Driving home from south Florida soon and looking for the best attractions, stops, etc along the way on I-10 (don't wan but to stop until we get to JAX). Family of 4 with 2 14yo girls. Just got back from 9 days in Puerto Rico so we've done the beach enough for a while.

We have done this drive over the years and an evening in New Orleans can be fun (if you are stopping somewhere for the night). In the summer the Quarter is pretty tame before it gets too late (because it's so damn hot), you can have a good dinner and take in the atmosphere around Jackson Square.

Was going to say Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete, hadn't been since 2015. Turns out Tony is dead and some lady bit the balls on the camel so they don't have animals anymore.

My kids enjoyed touring the Alabama in Mobile.

New Orleans they liked too. We went to Cafe du Monde at night and got a table right away. Next day the line was down the street. Central Grocery for a muffaletta.

Yah Tiger Truck Stop was a regular stop during college, it was like a dirty Buc-ee's and the Snake Farm had a baby.

If you go to New Orleans, take 90 west and hit Avery Island.
