And make sure you're buying in Larimer Country and not Boulder. Boulder County has/will be enacting a permit process for short term rentals. It's been a couple of years since we looked at it but the intention is to limit the number of rentals to attempt to stabilize home pricing for locals/full timers.

You have a house, cabin or condo there? That's great. We just love Estes. Not a fan of the timed entry system of RMNP. We love to hike and there are so many trails around the area. We eventually would like to buy something there and stay the summer months and rent out the winter/spring months but don't know if that is feasible.
Colorado has all kinds of crazy laws. You can only stay in a condo for 30 days - have to leave for a night. I hate the RMNP timed entry also - eliminates spontaneity, so for the $2 charge I buy several at different times of the day to allow for more flexibility. The downtown is pretty torn up for construction and the North entrance only has one booth now while more are under construction. Big mess.

Great photo.

They're improving. I'd be all for a STR cap and LTR rental vouchers program like Breck along with creating a vacancy tax on the unoccupied 2nd, 3rd, and 4th homes that flows into an affordable local housing fund. Also a huge fan of placing deed restrictions on homes in the STR program capping them at a 3% per annum appreciation over purchase price and a ROFR mandating sales to FT workers located in the county to alleviate inflation due to outside money buying properties as investments and crushing the supply available to locals. That's the way all of the mountain towns are moving.

summers in vancouver and vancouver island are awesome!! escape this TX heat! also, Jackson hole is pretty magical!

Just did this a few weeks ago. Vancouver (Deep Cove), Whistler, then Vancouver Island (Tofino). Great summer destination. This week in Surfside (South Myrtle Beach). Wasn't bad either, but I love me some Pacific Northwest.

My wife and I just got back last month from a Viking river cruise on the Danube. We had stops in Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary including Vienna and Budapest. Wonderful vacation.
Did this Viking Cruise require the vax?

Peru and Patagonia. We are planning a four weeks trip to Peru this year and going to rent an RV for those purposes. My wife is also dying to go on an inca trail , so checking the best inca trail operators at the moment. Anyone have done it already? What company did you use and what did you like/didn't like about this tour?

Jackson Hole is the ski resort. Jackson's Hole refers to the entire 60 mile Jackson valley with Jackson being the actual town.

Just a little FYI. I only know that because my partners family was the developer of JH Ski Resort.

Mine is South Korea, particularly Seoul and Busan. Seoul for the city life and Busan for the beach life.

I enjoyed the DMZ tour, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and N Tower, and the nightlife in Seoul. In Busan, I love Haeundae Beach and Songdo Beach.

Aside from the lovely buildings and shopping markets, I also love going to Korea to indulge in their food. Personally, I love Kimchi, Samgyeupsal, tteokbokki, and ramyeon.

Anyone wishing to visit South Korea and go to these places or you want to indulge in food tours, connecting to a local guide might be helpful for you as they were during our travel. Found this article that might help you decide https://gowithguide.com/blog/hiring-a-guide-in-south-korea-pros-and-cons-5288

We just got back from our first trip to Asia. Japan has immediately shot to the top of my favorite foreign destinations list. For comparison's sake, I've been to the UK, Scandinavia, northern Europe, Greece and the Aegean, Russia, Mexico, Caribbean, Venezuela, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Next up will hopefully be Australia or a return trip to Japan.

Inside the US, I'd have to go with Pensacola and Orlando. Anytime we have a long weekend, we head to Navarre Beach.

It's funny y'all mentioned this. I hadn't checked this thread in a while until yesterday. Coincidentally (before I even opened the thread to see the updates), I came across a hotel in Tofino that caught my attention. I even texted it to my BF. This destination has jumped to the very top of my vacation wish list. I want to go storm watching. I'd love to go for Christmas, but plane ticket prices are better in January.

For me it's Italy. Rome and Florence are two of my fav cities there. Rome is more active, with a rich history and a lot of places to visit. Florence is calmer, with stunning architecture and amazing food.
And also I love Paris, I've been there 5 times, and I feel myself like at home there

We just got back from our paradise: Bend, OR. We took my in-laws there for a week. If my wife ever joined me in the remote work life, we'd be out of PDX and in Bend yesterday. Year round skiing in 20 min. Phil's / Bach downhill MTB. Dozens of alpine lakes. Deschutes. Crater. Endless hiking. Beer on beer in Old Mill / Old Bend. Clean, beautiful, flower ridden city. Deschutes Nat smells like vanilla in the mornings from the Ponderosa. Brisk summer mornings to warm afternoons. Burry me there!
