With all the negative travel worries I thought I would ask, Where is your favorite place or best trip?

My wife and I just got back last month from a Viking river cruise on the Danube. We had stops in Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary including Vienna and Budapest. Wonderful vacation.

I really love Banff - summer and winter. I've been twice and will probably go again.

We just went to Sicily, and plan to go back. It was amazing. So much to see and do, I could easily stay a month.

Also love Sedona, AZ for the unique scenery and hiking, but only certain times of the year because of the heat.

My wife and I have talked about doing that cruise. We think it would be great. Good to know it is something we should do.

Anywhere with a coastline on the mediterranean. Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia. Freaking love it, I'll never get tired of going there.

Never fished, just family beach trips about 15 years in a row.
Brown sand, brown water, but the kids and their cousins still talk about it.

My first "big" vacation trip was to Rocky Mountain National Park in 1986. I fell in love with mountain day hiking. Been there 7 more times over the years.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothing is a real cool hand

I've been thinking about this alot lately and I've boiled it down to Yosemite.

It envelopes you in its beauty like no other place I've been. It's also extremely accessible. You can go and literally do nothing and still be in awe.

Estes Park. Wife and I going in October again this year. Anyone know what the rental income opportunity would be there in the winter?

Mountains of West Virginia. Went back there to visit several years ago and see my Grandparents place one last time (Moms side) and tour countryside. Happened to be statewide garage sale weekend and you didn't know where to start. I enjoy the simple things!

rose - of course the summer months are the best - probably 80% of rental income arrives, but the winter months the income covers most of the expenses and are kind of a break even. My place rented 285 days last year and are on the same trajectory this year. Estes is a great little gem.

Jackson is magical. The in laws are old timers there and we try to get up at least a couple times a year.

My wife and I will third the Viking River cruise on the Danube. We did the Danube and Rhine in one trip. Italy is also great. One day, we hope, we can go back to Italy and rent a villa for a month or so.

Closer to home, if you are a beach person, St. John in the USVI is one of our favorite trips.

In the continental US, we love Carmel, Ca. Great place to get out of the heat and eat great food. And Lake Tahoe is a close second.

The only big city we will visit now is San Diego. Weather is always great and it is very easy to get around with lots to do. Very easy trip from Texas.

Just to go - Marin Headlands. It's beautiful up there.
To decompress and relax - Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico
To act like a stupid American and drink way too much - Train Bar in Roppongi, Tokyo (sadly closed after the scamdemic)
To remind myself how lucky I am - rooftop swimming pool @ Marina Bay Sands in Singapore

If you ever need recs just lmk. Her great great great great something grand father founded Kemmerer and her dad was one of the original developers of JH. It's changed a lot but still has a nice small town vibe.

I didn't know until meeting her that Jackson Hole is the ski resort. The town of Jackson is located in Jackson's Hole (meaning the town is surrounded by mountains) but the only thing in the area that's actually named Jackson Hole is the ski hill.

Just always found that interesting.

You have a house, cabin or condo there? That's great. We just love Estes. Not a fan of the timed entry system of RMNP. We love to hike and there are so many trails around the area. We eventually would like to buy something there and stay the summer months and rent out the winter/spring months but don't know if that is feasible.

My wife and I aren't really ones for repeat vacations, but we've been to Jackson Hole 3 times now. Once was a bucket list trip with my whole family for my mom after she got cancer.

Oddly enough, all 3 were in the summer. We aren't big skiers, I snowboarded for the first time ever just a couple years ago (another bucket list trip for my mom), and have heard Jackson's slopes are more for advanced abilities....

Colorado has all kinds of crazy laws. You can only stay in a condo for 30 days - have to leave for a night. I hate the RMNP timed entry also - eliminates spontaneity, so for the $2 charge I buy several at different times of the day to allow for more flexibility. The downtown is pretty torn up for construction and the North entrance only has one booth now while more are under construction. Big mess.

When I retire we're going to be doing summers and falls in Estes Park and winters and springs in Big Bend!

Whitefish/West Glacier is my other happy place - summer only!
