Thinking about taking wife and 2 daughters (12 & 10) there this summer. Anyone been? Is it a good place to go in late July/ August?

I've been in Jun & Jul. Good weather typically. It's a good spot to get away from LA if you live there but I wouldn't necessarily go out of the way to go there if you're not from around there with a short drive time.
