Sounds like the last couple of posters had a great time. Maybe COVID mania has slowed down there? May want to go early next year but was curious if it was back to normal. Thx

We were in NOLa last weekend and it was awesome!! Only a few places asked for "papers" and a mask. They didn't even look at it really. Could be paper or on the phone. Couple of places where closed for good but everything else was poppin. We had a great time and the reno at the airport is really nice.

Food and drinks never disappoint. Try Jack Rose for brunch/lunch. Bar Revolution was the best dinner I ever had in NOLa and I have been there over 30 times.

A group of us plan on going in December. Looking for places to stay under $200/night. Looking forward to the good food.

Yes - New Orleans is pretty much back to normal. The mask mandate is gone, which is great. The vaccine mandate is still in effect, but our experience is that the restaurants are not strictly enforcing it - especially the bars.

Tons of great restaurants too. If you're looking for something with a little Asian fusion, look at Maypop.

Just got back. First timer here too. Bourbon street was great for a one time thing. It's pizza and frozen drinks and stink. They asked to see Covid cards. Most didn't even look at it. The Frenchmen area was better for my old self. I left my group and went and ate in the hood spots. Food was great there. I'll go back but I'd stay away from bourbon street.

My favorite thing in the quarter is visiting all of the art stores, primarily on Royal but there are others sprinkled here and there. I'm not an art snob nor in any shape form or fashion educated on it - but I love so much of the galleries in the quarter. First thing we ever bought was this signed print. Not my photo below but the same series. I keep saying some day we'll grab one of his actual paintings but we've yet to pull the trigger. Don't give a flip the. 'value' drops like a new car hitting the pavement after you sign your name It lead to us buying other things - sometimes prints, sometimes real. It's always fun to walk along and see if there's something we'll love.

Newer bar (2014?) called Latitude 29 - it is the hotel bar of Bienville House. Great place for true tiki-drinks - not the "here's some fruit juice and whatever liquor I have" tropical drinks that people say are tiki. The owner is heavily responsible for researching the original recipes from Don The Beachcomber and "Trader" Vic Bergeron.

Staff - take out the trash.

Finally hoping to make it to New Orleans this summer. I'm guessing the recommendations on this thread may need to be updated, so I come to you wise people once again. Right now our plans are WW2 museum, Cafe du Monde, maybe Ruby Slipper, and a jazz place suitable for teens - Preservation Hall?

We're looking for any other family friendly recommendations, and also for places to stay. Thank you in advance.
