Coach G did a lot of good in his time in Aggieland and I think he should stay in town. He will be welcome anywhere he goes in town. Probably has a beautiful home, tons of friends and now plenty of time to enjoy retirement and his family.

IMO, this is a day of thanking Coach G. for his building our program and being an outstanding person.

Can't we wait one day before we get into the micro-analysis of the program's faults?

Way past time. Thankful for everything Coach G did. Spent many of summers taking my kids to his camps. And many seasons of attending games with them. But the time had come and glad it's moving on to a new chapter. Hopefully, now my kid's kids will be able to enjoy a new era of winning Aggie soccer.

Trev needs to carefully and methodically make this next hire. Hopefully they'll strike gold like they have with Elko, Morrison, and Ford.

I went to a soccer coaching clinic 2 summers ago and saw some of Randy Waldrum. I liked his pedigree. He's done some great things at Pitt.........who were the pits bf he took that job.

I think we all saw this coming and knew it was a change that needed to happen. However, when you have a coach like G who has been here for 33 years and has done so much for the program you wish it could have ended on a better note. G built this program from the ground up and quickly became one of the best coaches in the game. Winning several conference championships across the Big XII and SEC and appearing in 1 College Cup in 2014. He also produced countless All-confernce players as well as several All-American Unfortunately you can't live in the past forever. At some point you have to continue winning, and for the past few years that was not happening. I hope G can enjoy his retirement and be proud of what he built.

Hopefully we can find another Ford or Morrison type hire who can get us back on track fast. In this era of NIL and Transfer Portal I do believe it can be done. We have the resources and some of the best facilities in the Country. The only question is how much is Alberts willing to spend on a non-revenue sport.

I hope the next coach is an offensive minded one. I don't know if the Arkansas coach would be possible but someone with his type philosophy would be great. A defensive team that never scores never wins.

Hasn't he been showing up to the NTX Consortium events?

So, I know Michelle Lenard. I built her pool a few years ago.

She would be a great hire. The cupboard was pretty bare when she took over at Baylor.

She is a woman that is driven. She doesn't get out worked…

Her style of play will translate at any level.

If Trev hires Tim, no attacking player who does any bit of homework will come play for him. He's a defensive oriented coach who attacks via counter and set pieces.

Fully funding 28 scholarships is not as big a draw as it sounds. The elite players are going to gravitate toward schools with a full scholarship plus Revenue Share $. I don't believe A&M nor SEC women's soccer is participating in Rev share.

Schools/conferences giving women's soccer rev share are going to be getting the elite. I heard Big 12 does.

LINK TO SOCCER REVENUE SHARING PROGRAMS

Posted in premium, the most any school is giving in Rev Share is CO at $7,500 per player. If in fact they are additionally giving full rides, that is nice, but the majority of the rev share is minimal!

I think you are looking at very limited data and making many assumptions to come up with the $7500 number. Rev Sharing will play a much larger part in recruiting the top 50 players unless you are a Stanford/duke type team.

My dream hire would be to go get Keidane McAlpine from Georgia... probably very unlikely but we need to swing for the fences. Hopefully Trev is using the bye week for football to talk to potential soccer replacements!!! I think Eric Bell would be great also!

A rumor on a soccer forum said to keep an eye on Texas State's Steve Holman. A team we tied with their best players out and that also tied Oklahoma, they're sitting at 5-0-4 in conference right now and was 12-5-5 last year.

Pass on Holeman. Limited ceiling. Nearing 60 and mediocre in the SEC when it wasn't the league it is now. Not especially elite when he dropped down to Lamar or TX State.

If you wanted a Morrison-like hire, you'd need to kick the tires on Carrie Kveton, mid-40s, Dallas native, played at UNT, UEFA certified.

I agree that it's probably unlikely as I think Georgia is home for him, but that's the first name mentioned here that would get me excited about the future of Aggie soccer.

That's about it. Coached in Denmark for around 6 yrs and her club made the UEFA Women's Champions League knockout stage 4(?) times, 2 years as an asst in NWSL, 2 yrs as Head of Player Development for a different Danish club, and USWNT U-19 head coach for 2 years.

Not as successful as Morrison's was, but still impressive to be named head coach for the U19s.

I got to spend a little time around the program in the early '00s, and Phil was a great guy to talk to. I hope he gets the credit he deserves in helping build the program, too.

I believe that's what it was; the free convention in Waxahachie?

I didn't go last year, but did enjoy it when I went 2 years ago.
