I missed the first half, but man this 2nd half is fun to watch. Guys aren't backing down at all.

Welp. Down to 10 now. Extra time is gonna be a slog to survive to penalties. What a shame too cause it's been such a good game to watch.

Offsides by a couple on inches on the tying goal here in ET. Sucks

Team played their butts off today. Scoreline flatters Chelsea greatly.

Sad part is, these guys have gotta be absolutely spent and they've got a crucial game against Hull on Tuesday.

They get back into the win column with a 2-0 win against Swansea for the first time in 10 tries. They are hanging on to that playoff spot.

Southampton beats 1st place Coventry, stays 3 pts behind Wrexham for the last playoff spot with 9 matches remaining

And both Wrexham and Southampton have a game in hand on most of the league. Gonna be a wild end to the season.

I still think Southampton climb into the playoffs, and I hope Wrexham can hang on (with perhaps Hull giving up their spot). It's a shame Wrexham couldn't beat Hull midweek, but on the heels of that extra time cup match, they were totally smoked.

2 more on the road starting tomorrow against No. 10 Watford (AI says less than 30% chance of the W), and then the final stretch has road games against Southampton, Coventry, and Birmingham as well as a home match against Middlesborough.

They're going to have to win some unlikely matches to stick in the Top 6.

Disney has to be thrilled that they're in the chase with less than 1/5 of the season to go.

Yeah it is unlikely but I hope they have a few surprises and keep it close.

Starting strong today would be nice.

They are really slumping now. Bad loss today.

It wasn't as bad as the score suggests, but still lots of bad. Wrexham was the better team in the second half but couldn't figure out how to score an equalizer. They got increasingly desperate and gave up the 3rd goal on a counter.

Keeping an eye on Southampton v Norwich City today. With a win Southampton would pull even with Wrexham

Nice away win over Sheffield United.
Need another one next over a similarly mid West Brom. Lots of more challenging tests to come.

Gonna be a wild end to the season if the Opta folks are remotely correct in their expectations.

They predict Hull finishing 5th with 75 pts, Southampton 6th with 74, and Wrexham 7th with 73… which means they're expecting 3 wins and a draw for Wrexham. Honestly that sounds about right to me, but I bet we'll drop a game we're not supposed to and steal a win somewhere we shouldn't. But if we can steal one more….

A draw today. Tale of two halves with West Brom dominating the first half and Wrexham dominating the second. Both could've won and a draw is the right result IMO, though I'd argue Wrexham were slightly better overall.

The point puts them back in 6th, but Southampton have a game in hand. Saints play in FA cup tomorrow before meeting Wrexham in a massive game next Tuesday.

Home game, and Wrexham will have an extra day of rest/prep… really need to come away with a win.

Really needed the W in that one with matches against Coventry, Middlesbrough, Birmingham, and Southampton in their final six tests.

Hull has the easier path and a 3 point lead.

Hopefully Wrexham can prevail against Southampton at home in their next fixture, although I think overtaking Hill is the more likely path to the playoffs.

Fun first season in the Championship for this generation regardless.

Opta still gives Wrexham a 42% chance of making the promotion playoff.

Coventry is nearly a lock to win the league and Opta say they have a 100% chance to get promoted.

Millwall, Ipswich, and Middlesbrough are >99% locks to at least make the playoff and also have reasonable chances of finishing 2nd (Ipswich has the best chance at 43%).

Derby still has a small, but possible chance (9%) to sneak into the playoff, but it's basically a 3 horse race for the last two playoff spots, with Hull and Southampton neck to neck as favorites and Wrexham as the underdog.

Game tomorrow is huge.

I guess Wrexham has decided not to show up today. Down two nil 20 minutes in.

Disappointing end to the season. Bad start to the season with all those blown games and it just seems they ran out of gas towards the end.

I think Father Time caught up to a few of these guys. Need to get younger this summer.

Honestly though it's still gonna be a good season and they've overachieved if xG means anything.

Hull slipped this weekend and Wrexham took care of business, so it ain't over till it's over. 2 pts away from Hull, but Derby is right behind. It's a glorious 3-way battle for the last playoff spot.

Yeah Hull and Derby both have much easier schedules. It's Hull's spot to lose for sure.

If I had to put money on it, I'd bet that Wrexham finishes 8th below both of them. But crazier things have happened, so I'm hoping for some crazy.

If it's 8th, that still exceeds all pre-season expectations and would be a nice springboard for next year.

I said it was Hull's to lose, and they gave it up, with a draw on the road at Leicester. Wrexham won at Oxford to jump up to 6th by a slim 4 GD margin.

Also Derby County lost which largely takes them out of the running. They now need a miracle where neither Wrexham or Hull win again.

Danny Ward starting at GK again for the first time since his injury in August… and it reminded me how many nasty injuries this team faced early on this season. I'll say it again - the team exceeded expectations, so I hope they just have fun down the stretch and play loose.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I can see Wrexham not winning against Coventry and Middlesbrough, but Hull just has Charlton and Norwich left so at least a point seems pretty certain.

Charlton isn't quite clear of the danger zone as far as relegation with 3 games to play, so hopefully they will be forced to play hard against Hull City. If Hull loses that one on the road (or at home against NC) and Wrexham can win the home match against Middlesbrough in the last game of the season it could come down to GD.*

* This assumes Wrexham loses to Coventry on the road, which seems pretty likely. Stealing a point would be a great result. They have their promotion locked up already.

Your last sentence is the key. How motivated will they be since they are locked in?
deadbq03

Yeah they not only have clinched promotion, but have also now clinched the title, so there's no need for a result (other than pride which is no small thing).

I hope they play their kids and/or give aging benchwarmers a nice send-off before cutting them this summer.

Oops. I was wrong earlier - Ward was back last week but I wasnt able to watch.

Interesting article on it… watching on Tuesday they seemed a lot more settled on defense and playing out from the back with Ward there. I hope it makes the difference down the stretch… and it makes me wonder how many other results would've gone our way if he hadn't been out all year.

Hull Lost today. So Wrexham and Hull are now tied on points, but Wrexham has a game in hand and three goals in the gold differential category. If they win tomorrow, they're almost surely making the playoff. Even with a close loss they are in good shape with a win next week. Just don't get blown out tomorrow.
Danny Vermin

FFFFFFF! Wrexham should be up 1 instead of tied.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Derby County wasn't as out of it as thought supra either.

Going to have to likely have to win the last one by as much as Hull does to maintain the 1 GD margin. Not sure what the tiebreaker is if they finish the same in GD.

Frustrating game. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like the halftime change was a poor one. But also, knowing the results from yesterday, I think at some point they should've decided that preserving the draw was better than pushing to score and exposing yourself at the back.
