Interested because I've looked at doing a barndo on a property of mine so am going to ask some questions that I think me and anybody else interested would have:

Dimensions?

Age?

Condition?

Time frame to have it removed?

And what qualifies as "disassembled"? Like just the metal shell correct? I wouldn't be removing the frame.

And question to the board would be "Has anybody done this before?

I've done it with an all metal building and I've done it with an RV carport. Myself and two grown men did the building and my wife and I did the RV carport. We repurposed and reassembled both on our place.

After moving the ones I did, I'd only do it if it was free or they paid me.

It's not hard, just time consuming. You'll need some helpers, probably two trailers of extended trailer length (or more for you take the framing), depending on roof panel length. Wood framing is difficult to deconstruct and heavy. I'd probably take the metal and leave the framing and buy new wood or weld up metal on reassembly.

Take notes, lots of photos, measure the framing once the metal is off, label every panel and trim piece in archival ink or wax marker so it doesn't fade before you put it back together.

It's doable and a decent deal but make no mistake about the amount of work it is.

It's a project better suited for November/December rather than May/June but it can be done if you take your time.

If he wants it gone, you'd be lucky if someone wants to come remove it for free.
