FS: GlowForge Pro Laser, 45W

I purchased this laser new in March 2018 from Glowforge (for reference….back then, the price was $5,550). It has been used in a home environment and has seen sporadic use for making gifts for family and friends. I would guess it has seen around 200 hours of laser time, but it is hard to be sure.

Being over seven years old, the CO2 level in the laser tube has obviously diminished some. This is evident when lasering 'GlowForge' materials. (For those not familiar with GlowForge materials, they have a QR code on them which the laser reads and uses to set the laser's settings automatically).) To achieve satisfactory engraving and cutting with such, I usually need to slow the print speed by 10%. So, if the recommended print speed is 300, I'll adjust it down to 270. Alternatively, I could also turn the power up by 10%, if the power isn't already set at 'max'. Either way, doing so yields consistent results which are very nice. See the pict of the TAMU seal I did today as a test.

This unit would be great for someone who wants to get started with laser printing and cutting.
This sale does not include an air filter. I did use a BOFA brand powered air filtration unit, but I'm keeping it. You can purchase used air filtering units on Facebook and eBay for cheap. Alternatively, if you want a really cheap solution, you can use a dryer vent hose to exhaust the fumes from the laser through a window or door.

Included in this sale will be some maintenance tools for cleaning the optics (easily done) and some Glowforge materials (various sheets of hardwoods, acrylic sheets, draft board, etc) so you can get started immediately. I also have the original shipping box and materials, including the special blocks for locking the laser head in place for shipping.

Reason for selling: I need (want) a laser that can handle larger size materials. So, this one needs a new home.
