Making the field expands the season and is required to win an NC. Not sure that Texas fans view that as a goal but missing is an anti-goal.

Thats fine. Texas will be off-season champs and project #1 in the pre-season and Heisman polls again. It will make it that much sweeter when they lose to a Florida or some other lower ranked squad.
Or they go 3-0 against us and to the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 years.

At Texas simply making a 12 team playoff would be considered a huge success. The bar there is ridiculously low-Especially when their fans can't wait to tell you about all of their built in advantages..but in the end a trophy case that looks a lot like Auburn..

Texas has reportedly been squarely in the mix for elite Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, who is seen as the top valuable player in the portal with the transfer window coming to a close. The Oregon Ducks are also reportedly among the leaders for him.

However, with Texas landing a commitment from Wake Forest offensive tackle Melvin Siani on Thursday, the Longhorns' chances of securing Seaton appear to be dwindling.

Not sure if there is a positional need but seems with all of the guys going to the draft after the natty, Miami is a team that needs top end guys and will have a lot to spend. Seems like Christobal would be in the mix

And if they beat us for a third consecutive time?

Then sad, self loathing "fans" will go out of their way to cry like children months later.

That will depend on QB play again.

Lmao. They have a real schedule. Be fortunate not to go 7-5 or 8-4.

#1 pick. He'd go undrafted as of now.

Uh, those dorks in Austin can get top5-10 classes with any ol tard coach. They've had every advantage for a half-century, and have 1 title. We haven't even averaged top 15 classes for more than 8 years now.

He will visit Oregon as well. If Knight wants him then Oregon will get him. Also, the sips already had decent OT's. Their issue was interior OL and this move doesn't address that. They chase stars and headlines, but never try to actually address their needs.

I don't know. Knight isn't nearly as rich as he once was. Nike has not been a successful company in recent years. Sure, he could afford to pay anything, but he isn't the leader of a highly successful company anymore.

His max net worth was a $50 billion. He's now worth $35 billion. He may not be as rich as he was but that doesn't mean much. If he wants an OT he's going to get him.

He's old and wants to win a championship before he dies and has billions of dollars, he has enough money for an OT in the portal.

If you have just ONE CHOICE, would you choose making the playoffs and lose to sips…or beat sips and miss the playoffs?

I agree. Look what happened this year. If we wouldn't have had such a terrible offensive game plan by Klein we would have beaten Miami and most likely playing for a natty Monday night. Never know what will happen so anytime you get the opportunity is is good

Yep look at Miami. Completely on the outside looking in until the very last ranking and now playing for a national title. Regular season doesn't matter. You've got to scratch claw and fight to do whatever you can to earn your spot. All that matters now.

I would love to win but if we lose and make the playoffs again i won't care that much.

Shhhhhh....careful....
You're an Ag that's evolved, and sees more of the bigger picture and National scale.
There are very few of us.

We have to watch out, because we're surrounded by majority of caveman Ags, huge foreheads, bad teeth, and the whole nine yards....still living a SWC mentality and unable to think beyond a 90 mile radius.
There are a select few of them that will at least think out to the state of Texas borders, giving TxTech some legitimate thought. Those are the ones that know how to make the fire. The others are weirded out by them, but they allow it because they rely on them for their fire.

Given the decade plus drought since playing in the '09 championship game against 'Bama making the 4 team playoff in '23 was definitely considered a success. Winning a couple of playoff games in '24 and making the final four again out of the SEC was probably more impressive than the conference championship in the Big 12 the year before notwithstanding the trophy.

Winning 10 games last season (but not making the playoffs) was disappointing, which is a little funny. Weird to have expectations again.

I thought every advantage for Texas was more of a thing for before the last half century rather than mid-70s on?

Moreover between Jackie and Slocum I imagine they easily more than doubled your "We haven't even averaged top 15 classes for more than 8 years now."

A&M has been one of the state's two football flagships, Horatio, for more years than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Here is my take on Texas and this remains unvalidated until after 2026.

I do NOT believe Sark is a great coach at program building. You saw clear proof of that last year. Historical demise from #1 preason rankings. Manning not even being close to ready. OL was terrible but graded out as a Top talent. Receivers couldn't catch and were not great. Same with RBs.

That is VERY bad sign for sip fans.

This year, we find out if Sark SUCKS at developing talent and improving players stock.

I personally believe he sucks at identifying talent (value talent versus throwing money at 4 and 5 stars). Great coaches find 3 star talent and make em 5 star players. They dont get 5 star players who play at 3 star levels.

Since the early '70s, after they regulated schollys:

Nattys
t.u. 1 - Ags 0

Conference titles
t.u. 11. - Ags 8
*fun footnote, while lots of people think they owned the BigXII….they only actually won it 2 times, and we won it 1 time

Head to head
it's damn near even, but they may be up 1 or 2 now
*fun footnote (albeit irrelevant), we didn't play in the years we had respectable success in the SEC plus the JFF years, while they were hovering around 0.500 in the BDF and losing to Kansas prior to Sark's arrival….so we likely stack up some wins there, had we played
So in the typical cycles of ups and downs, they benefit from a window where they were definitely down, but we weren't playing so it didn't hurt em in the record books

Point being, all you bleeding vag's that have this strange inferiority complex and perpetual little bro sensation relative to those dildo waving stains in Austin….
Sack up. Grow a pair. For 50+ years now, it's a helluva lot more even than you seem to wanna recognize.
Plus if the goal is to be top tier in the SEC, perennial playoff contender, and be in legit contention for Nattys….then we've gotta be thinking wayyyyyyy beyond just this 90 mile radius.

Sark's doing fine. Built a 0.500 team into a continual playoff threat (so far)
Where last year was screwed up from the beginning was they never should have been preseason #1, and Arch never should have been in the Heisman conversation, let alone the preseason favorite.
The national media is 100% to blame for that. If all the same things were underneath pretty much any other logo, it wouldn't have been presented that way.
The media's stupidity isn't Sark's fault.
