Horton is not better than Coleman, but we've improved our team as a whole by spreading our resources around instead of dropping a massive amount of money on a couple of guys. From what I've heard, not getting Coleman is at least partially why we were able to go get Gibson at CB and Mims at DL, both of which are huge additions, and then we still added Horton.

The On3 Rankings are worthless when comparing portal classes. It is valid to suggest what you lose matters. But the On3 metric is trying to figure out how much you improved relative to your own talent. Using their rankings for comparisons is ridiculous. They even indicate it on their site.

As a rule, I take everything I read about the portal with a grain of salt simply because agents are involved.

Have you ever seen an agent get in trouble for shopping a client to schools before he enters the portal? There is no oversight over any of this, and an agent's only goal is to make money.

Im not familiar with Joseph Herbert so I'm not sure how credible he is, He's the only one reporting that Seaton and LSU are close to a deal.

LSU has recently had some big donors (not hospital related) step up, The new AD deserves some credit for that'. They've been focusing their efforts on the rev share landscape for a while and had millions in MMR deals ready to offer when the portal opened. Ironically, some of that foundation was implemented by Woodward and Kelly.
