I was born in New Orleans but moved to Texas (Thank you, Lord!) in 1965 between soph and jr year in HS. Tulane was always called the Green Wave but their mascot symbol was the "greenie" which was a wimpy little green guy, kinda like a green Pillsbury dough boy. They introduced this new logo around '63 or so. My buddies and I would ride the public service bus at night to Tulane games at the age of 13 or 14. Would never happen today. The Tulane stadium was really cool as it had a steel upper deck. You could stomp your feet and really generate a lot of noise.
