Want to take the family on a civil war tour in Franklin. With the options of houses to tour and tour options at each location it's a little overwhelming. Don't get to drag the family to things like this often, so want to pick the best one. Figured we had some experts here who could weigh in.

Thanks!

The Carter House and McGavock House (aka Carlton Plabtation) are #1 and 2.

Thanks! Do you think the basic Walkup tour at Carter house is sufficient?

My iPhone corrected Carnton to Carleton

Walk up to the Carter House shouldn't be a problem

We spent a weekend in Nashville, and on Monday took a Franklin Tour in a Mini-Van. The tour guide was great, all the people were great.
It was special for me because my G-G-Grandfather fought at Franklin with the 34th Alabama Infantry. Luckily, he survived, but was captured 2 weeks later at Nashville. He was sent to Camp Douglas, Illinois.
He came home to Salem, Ala. Then in 1870 he moved his family to Rusk County, Tex.
