I don't know about y'all, but for most people I know, this is the way they get to Highway 6 from I-35 in Waco. Even people coming from Fort Worth and those areas. This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. And TXDOT has done some dumb ass things over the years.

The project will span from I-35, near TxDOT Waco's headquarters, to University Parks Drive and State Loop 484. The reconstruction aims to create safer crossings, improve access for local businesses and properties, and design a streetscape focused on people rather than just vehicles.

i'm becoming more familiar with Waco because i have a kid there this year and I was thinking it was going to be the whole stretch south from 35, but it just looks like it will be from 35 to University Park.

that area has a lot of runners and bikers, so i can kinda see it. but if that's your daily transit, i could see it sucking.

I'm shocked to hear that area having lots of runners and bikers. It has always seemed sketchy and decayed.

And I have to say, that stretch of road just might be the worst maintained, most illogical stretch of semi-major road in the state……and right in front of the TXDOT office. Ironic.
