If it's still under construction, I'm also saying boiler problem or possibly a hot work issue where they didn't use all the necessary precautions.

Officials said the explosion left multiple workers injured at the Holiday Inn on Texas Avenue that's currently under construction.

Construction guy heard air leaking out of a tank.

So they just capped the end to prevent the leak. What's wrong with that? The pipe just said "PRV" on the end. What does that matter?

Traffic isn't bad, the building is empy and its over by the ballpark which is currently a Spirit Halloween store. Not a highly congested area.

Not sure if legit, but last night on the news, it was mentioned they were working on a tankless water heater system in a mechanical room. The news said it may have been from the nat gas to fire it. I'm, doubtful as I don't see burn marks anywhere in the pictures.

Boiler/steam explosion type situation does seem more likely, but my first question is, why did the pressure safety valves not lift and protect the system?

When I was in grad school, the CHEM building blew up. I was trying to get to the CHEN building and noticed campus was shut down.

Probably. But I would doubt it was in the CHEM building. Probably in the wastelands that was/is West Campus....
