Nah. He was being fairly objective when talking about the idea of a surveillance state. But I know we love to bag on Junior.

He was struggling to come up with the obvious connection between a surveillance state and humankind's tendency to abuse power.

Maybe a stupid question here, but won't the goats be spreading the seeds when they pass through the goats' systems? And by "pass through their systems," I mean poop.

i think that's a question for the shepard.

Dumb Zone gold today. Jake is having surgery on a broken arm tomorrow. Has to give a blood draw today so he took a call to schedule it. Dan told Jake to just bring them your tampon. Scheduling lady heard it.

ai transcript. close enough

What is that? This is my phone. Leave your message for five 1-2. Hey can I answer this? Yeah, yeah, probably his doctor. Hello. This is he. What time? The earliest I could be there would probably be like 330 or 4. Oh we're talking today? Yeah. Probably has to go give blood. Let's do 4. Just uh hand em your tampon. Wring it out. Wring this out. I'm sorry, ma'am, are you indicating but based on your laughter, you heard that? No, no. No. Right. Oh no. Hold on. Did she hang up? Sorry, I'm kind of in the I do a talk show and we're sort of we're doing it right now. So you're saying no to the the tampon thing won't work? Alright, I'll be there. I'll be, I'll be there at 4-4 o'clock. Yes ma'am. And then? Do I know anything about the surgery time tomorrow? Oh. OK. Ask her what she's wearing. I'm not gonna do that Dan you've been very helpful. Thank you. Bye. Was that the mean lady? No, that's a different lady. But as soon as he said tampon, she started laughing. Just wring that thing out. Just on the counter. Well this should do it. I bet she's never heard that before. That's fantastic, alright. Alright, so I'll be going there today. Nice. Yeah, excellent.

Weird. The app is only going back 35 minutes now?

The timer shows an hour prior but the "slider" won't go back to the 50+ minute marker.

Wonder if that's permanent change or a technical issue?

There was an issue with the stream during the Aikman call-in. It completely stopped for a little bit

I would assume technical issue. That app sucks. I particularly love when a Chinese ad pops up in the middle of a segment and just start jibbering over what I'm trying to listen to without anyway to stop it besides exiting the whole app.

This morning, Jub unironically told maybe the most boring story in the history of the show, about town councils and sewage systems.

Never thought I'd see the king de-throned, but after today, here are my official Updated Rankings of the Worst Infrastructure-related Segments on The Ticket:

10. Craig's Infrastructure Man bit (pick any one, they're all terrible)
9. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits
8. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits
7. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits
6. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits
5. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits
4. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits
3. Another one of Craig's Infrastructure Man bits

1. Jub's sewage line story that was teased as him presenting to the city council but then the topic got pulled from the agenda so all that buildup (pun intended) was for nothing

It was so boring you missed that Jub and others spoke during open comments but the council declined to add it to the agenda next month.

I'm going in with the assumption that he knows nothing about how the process works, AND I'm going in with the assumption that he was trying to make a story about nothing into something for a radio segment.

Boards and councils aren't allowed to address anything about stuff like this because it's not on their posted agenda and to do so would be in violation of the open-meetings act. They also don't publicly state what's going to be on the agenda next month during the wrap up of the meeting this month. So....

A. George doesn't understand this and is pissed. He goes home, decides to take it to radio to vent his frustrations and is hoping that other P1s that have zero to do start bombarding the council members via email and social media in hopes that they can get it fixed.

or

B. He does know that they can't discuss it, but thinks a little local outrage might make for a good radio segment. He can follow up on it in a few weeks and claim victory during another segment when he reveals that it's been added to the agenda, justice has prevailed, and thanks to the P1's that reached out and pressured the mean local officials.

On a positive note, I thought Fernando Mendoza was a great guest despite Dave almost pulling the e-brake with his "grinding" stopdown. Seems like a really genuine kid.

I think so. Bob and Corby would be the last of the old guard that is left.

I listen to the Musers in the morning and Bob whenever something sportsy is going on that I want to listen to.

Who else are people going to want to turn in to hear? I like Donnie but he can't pull me in with Matt associated with him.

My guess is when Musers leave The Ticket eventually shuts down and Bob goes podcasting.

I think the Ticket will still limp along for as long as Bob and Corby are still around, but it's pretty clear that that's the end of the line.

It dies sooner if Gordo retires before Jub & Junior.

I'm probably out as soon as any of those three are done. Kind of hope they go out together but thats likely a pipe dream.

I am a Day 1 P1 (yep with Skip Bayless and Chuck Cooperstein in my drivetimes) but soon gravitated to both the Musers and Hardline shows. I was thrilled when those moved to am and pm drivetimes. I've been out on the Hardline since The Old Gray Wolf left (and was only sometimes still listening since Rheiner left) except tuning in for Bob when something actual sportsy is happening.

Craig always says he has his retirement date already on his calendar and that the other 2 don't know when it is. I would hope they all 3 retire together, or at least Jub and Junior with Gordo going to the Hardline or something.

I get that they can't just shut the station down when the Musers retire, but it's going to become unlistenable when they promote more of the Tier 3 guys because they won't have the budget to bring in anyone else.

This discussion is depressing because it's probably coming sooner than we think it is.

I'm 38 and was never a true ticket P1 until recently, and even then I'm not sure I qualify. When I'm driving to and from work, I'm mainly there outside of college football season where often podcasts about the SEC/Ags supercede my listening.

My sports talk started at 19 with Galloway (yes old pee pants cabbage farts). I was in summer school at TCC and fell in love with his just watch the damn game bravata.

I did tune into the ticket during commercials or during topics I didn't care about, and actually heard the end of The Hammer as it happened.

But as I was tuned into Galloway I got roped into and then met Ben and Skin in person. Genuine guys that I ended up exchanging info with and ended up getting invited to personal events and became friends.

Followed them to The Fan and listened to the death throes of Galloway. Watched them leave The Fan when suits tried to neuter the fun (which I now know was 100% ticket-like content with their own flare like gameshows and more random music creations).

Followed them to the Eagle and then was so happy when they brought the OGF, Sirois, Danny, and Julie to The Freak with my favorite fan personalities (B&S, Kevin Turner, and Jeff Cavanaugh).

It didn't work out, and now I'm Musers driving my hour commute on the way to work and Hardline on the way home if it's interesting, switching to college football podcasts or Rogen if it's not.

I've grown fonder of Dave, still can't stand Junior, and have a love/hate with Corby. Bob will always be my leader

I started listening in 2010 and even with a move from DFW, I still listen during 80% of my workday. I might have to retire when the Musers and Hardline go. I don't know professional work life without the little ticket.

I interned for ESPN Radio Dallas in the summer of 2001 right after they launched. Inside the building, they always had the station on, and they would run promos taking potshots at The Ticket, talking about how they didn't need fart jokes or immature humor. I remember asking somebody once who they were talking about, and that introduced me to The Ticket. After that, I pretty much had it on whenever I could. I stopped listening all day when they busted up Bob and Dan and became much more segment-driven. It's only gotten worse over the years.

My hope is that Cumulus finally tanks, the boys all retire, and the band gets back together under Dan and Jake's "No Puppets" umbrella with weekly podcasts they can do whenever they want for fun.

I haven't listened very much since I stopped commuting 15 years ago.

Probably listened to 1 segment or 2 in the last 2 years.
