Yeah, it's been a long time irritant and having to use the app for it (while I understand why) is just enough of an irritant that I won't change my behavior and will continue to avoid it. I can imagine having to pay for parking while waiting for the tab at Reds or something like that.

ParkMobile is actually a pretty cool app, now. It used to be you had to awkwardly type in your lot#, space#, license plate# and credit card info. Now it remembers all that, uses GPS to figure out what lot you are in, you pick your car from a list of your saved cars, enter the spot# and double-click for Apple Pay and you're done. Then you get a countdown on your home screen, and if you want to extend an hour, again - just double-click with Apple Pay and you're extended.

You need the same app for the lot at Northgate and many places on campus.

Century Square can screw right off. 2 years ago I pull in to buy my wife a gift package from Galleria Day Spa. I see the meter maid guy looking straight at my truck coming in. I pull into the parking spot and head to the kiosk to pay for the spot (it's about 100' from the kiosk). As I'm heading back from the kiosk to my truck I see the meter guy writing a ticket for my truck! I was mad as hell. He says "no big deal, just call this number and tell them what happened and they'll cancel the ticket." I refused, went full Karen and made him call his boss to have the ticket cancelled right then and there. They have an office in the parking garage and I go there and have them erase the ticket. Took me like 45 minutes for the supervisor guy to wander over, delay, act like he's the big shot and fart around on his computer.

I've never been back. My wife goes there and parks in the garage which apparently isn't under the jurisdiction of the parking jackwagons.

All the parking shaningans doesn't seem to be hurting Kendra Scott or Lululenon by the looks of my credit card statements.
