I guess the KBTX AI doesn't realize that Louisiana has parishes and not counties.

No. It was pretty lame.

He's from Port Arthur. It's practically Louisiana.

They're not big on publicizing when burn bans end. Only when they start.oklaunion said:

Did Trump place a statue of Christopher Columbus near the White House or is this just a click-bait headline?
Quote:
Short answer: it's not clickbait something real did happen, but the headline can be a little misleading depending on how it's phrased. Why the headlines feel "click-baity"
- In March 2026, a 13-foot statue of Christopher Columbus was installed on the White House grounds.
- More specifically, it's next to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is part of the White House complex (right beside it, not the main lawn).
- The statue is a reconstruction of one that was torn down in Baltimore in 2020 during protests.
- It was gifted/loaned by an Italian-American organization, not newly commissioned from scratch by the government.
Some headlines make it sound like:But the more accurate nuance is:
- Trump personally "plopped a statue on the White House lawn"
- It's on the broader White House campus, not literally in front of the Oval Office
- It was gifted and installed with outside group involvement
- It's part of a broader push to highlight certain historical figures ahead of the U.S. 250th anniversary.

College student fatally shot by masked man while walking with friends, police say
Happened in Chicago but since you are based in a college town. You got a massive amount of clicks. It gets really old what they do.

Now he going on and on about Trump voting by mail in Florida.
Never mind that Florida's mail in voting is tightly controlled and is considered to be one of the most secure vote by mail systems in the US. It is no where remotely close to the mass mail in ballots Trump and Republicans oppose.

Did anyone catch the 5 KBTX news. Did I hear Rusty say oil prices are up over $100/barrel?
There is this thing called GOOGLE that can actually tell you the price of oil on a minute by minute basis. Maybe you should try it Rusty.

I doubt he knows the difference between Brent and WTI....he's looking at Brent. It wouldn't matter though. He'd go with whatever fits the narrative.
TyHolden said:
that's strange. I see almost $105 right now for Brent and $88 for WTI.

Yall have some unrealistic expectations for someone in the major with the lowest SAT average at most universities. Asking him to understand WTI, Brent, Henry Hub and more is an unrealistic bridge too far.

Unfortunately, to try and halfway keep up with local news, I do give KBTX clicks because the Bryan Eagle is so bad, worthless, in fact. WTAW is my first check and then KBTX. What other source is there for local news?
