It was only about 300' up when it passed my office at 8am

I tracked it on ADS-B as they traced the Brazos at about 200ft.

Just had four fighters go over campus and looked like they were heading to Easterwood. Maybe F-18's?

It never gets old watching them.

They buzzed my house that day as well. I counted 4...I thought I was on base with them flying so low!

I agree, they looked like F18s

I just saw a small, single engine, low wing plane flying north over south CS like it had taken off from Easterwood and turned back north. It really looked like a P51 or similar. It didn't show up on ADS-B or Flight Radar.

Anyone else see this?

About 15 mins ago, 4 Blackhawks flew in from the north and landed at Easterwood, per ADSB.

Anyone have any info?

This really isn't that uncommon of an occurrence right?

Well I'm home most days and I can't remember any groups of 4 in the past few months.

Also, three more just went over, also apparently headed to CLL. 7 in one day seems out of the ordinary to me at least.

eta First group departed heading SE, maybe CLL was a fuel stop.

Three groups of three passes through yesterday as well. They came from the north, stopped to refuel, and continued on to Corpus. For some reason they are moving a lot of Blackhawks.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that it's somehow rare for BHs to come into CLL. But we've lived here quite a while, and it's definitely unusual for them to come through in multiple groups of 3/4 passing right over us, that's all. Thought maybe corps related or something, so I asked /shrug

Sorry I didn't mean to come across as disparaging your question. It is actually VERY unusual to have multiple sets of Blackhawks transiting through on the same day, and especially on consecutive days. Sometimes a group will come in and land on the drill field for Corps show and tell. Sometimes they will come in and land at KCLL for lunch and then leave. Quick passing through like this, I have not seen before.

I think they are getting put on a transport ship to go fight a war. They went to Corpus where there is a naval base by the water.

At the risk of annoying the "it's an airport, there are going to be aircraft coming through" folks, I saw another two groups of 3 Blackhawks each passing over north to south today, 1st group around 3:15 and second group about 20 mins after that.

Again, I don't know how many Blackhawks normally visit CLL in an average week, but they have never come over our neighborhood in such numbers. 13 BHs in two days that I've seen from my back deck.

Also, it's not any kind of covert operation, they're flying during the day & one of each group is broadcasting ADSB, which the military doesn't have to do. It's just unusual. I won't make any more new posts about it.

Sincerely,

Radar O'Reilly

When the military flies in this area they usually broadcast ADSB …. But not always. If they are in formation, and broadcast ADSB, it's only one aircraft broadcasting. That's very SOP for formation flying.
