Anyone have one of these in the 5 seat, flip up bed configuration?

Thoughts? Reviews?

Looking at the 700 or 1000.

Something that I could carry 4 and some gear or 2/3 and a lot of gear.

I use a 1000 for work. I used to have a 700, and it was too lightly built for how rough I am on them. I took the back end roll cage off since my kids are grown and I don't use the back seats.

Great machine so far. I love the mechanical transmission with no belt to shred.

How fast does it go?

I've never tried to take it over 45.

I've got the Pioneer 1000. I looked at multiple side by sides before deciding on the Honda. Deciding factors were having the additional seats without it being so long. I was looking for something that still looked a little sporty. The biggest issue I would have is that when you fold the back seats up you give up all of your bed space. And I mean ALL of your bed space. There may only be 12 " between the back seat and the tailgate. I was not looking for something to do any work out of. Simply wanted it for running around a river lease with the family.

Thanks. Does it have a hitch receiver?

This would be a trail riding SxS so needed space or storage would simply be gas can, cooler, maybe camping gear. But nothing crazy

Does it have a front basket accessory to add some storage up there?

I've got the 700-4 and love it. Bought it used off one of my coworkers. Had it for 4 years. Great machine. Tops out around 40mph. Don't need it to go fast. It's a beast. Tight turning radius. Will go places other guys Polaris Rangers can't. I put one of these in the hitch receiver: https://www.kolpin.com/en-us/shop/accessories/storage-solutions/utv-sxs-storage/receiver-hitch-cargo-carrier/

Makes loading a deer up by yourself super easy. Any other questions just ask. Highly recommend.

They also make some bed extenders which make the bed slightly longer when tailgate is down. I haven't bought one but that's another option. Just google them.

I'm not sure about accessories. It does have a hitch receiver. You mentioned cooler, camping gear, etc. When those rear seats are up you would have space for a bag cooler but not a hard sided cooler. I was serious about no bed space. No front basket. If you will carry 4 or 5 people regularly and need to haul gear, simply check into the space.

I bought a 700-4 in 2018 and it's the best SxS I've ever had. I am ROUGH on my machines, and this thing has never once broken down. I do all my maintenance and stuff on time, and it just takes whatever I throw at it. I have thousands of hours on it. I'm looking to upgrade to a 1000-6 2 row, but I'll keep the 700 when I do.

What I really love about my Pioneer over the Mules and Rangers of the world is the transmission. It's not a CVT. No belt drive. It's a geared transmission with a drive shaft. It'll do 30, but I usually cruise at around 20 in top gear and the engine is just putting along.

Buy a Honda and never look back

They're also light and easy to tow

Noice. We used to hotdog it in the mountains on our Honda Rincons until all 5 of them were stolen in the middle of the night.

Those things look a lickin and kept on ticking. 700cc on a 4wheeler was… fun.

Can these be carried in the bed of a HD truck? Or too wide? I assume tailgate down and some straps maybe.

I'm thinking of getting one of the platforms for the bed to carry it with the RV in tow.

I bought a new 2023 forest edition 1000-5 in January of last year. 20k out the door. Put new rims and 28" tires on it, no lift or anything. It's an absolute beast and I love it. I high-centered it on big yuccas though, had to use the winch. The bed rattles and doors rattle some, gets annoying on rocky terrain. I heard there's some adjustments you can make to fix that. I just hooked it up to my 14' trailer with a full pallet of protein feed on it. Pulled it around just to test it out. It's really fun to drive, super tight turning radius, which is critical to me. It is the ultimate run and gun for stop and go ranch stuff. Run around to glassing knobs, shock calling turkeys, cutting branches, filling feeders, etc. Add a second battery, youtube it. The stock one battery seemed a bit light duty and was affected by cold storage. And slime your tires so you don't ever think about what its like to get flat tires again. I was raised on Honda 4-wheelers so it just seems right to stay Honda. They're so incredibly reliable.
