I agree with you. I have a '12 800 XP and '19 1000 XP Crew that have been bulletproof. They both get lots of use and driven fairly rough on our ranch in south Texas with zero issues besides rats eating up the wiring in the 800 and doing a bit of damage in the 1000. I have driven lots of Mule's and I just don't like how they ride compared to a Polaris. I haven't ridden in many Can Am's but they are nice too for what I do on our ranch. My 800 is my predator and hog hunting rig with a high seat and lots of lights. The 1000 is my work and cruising vehicle at the ranch 95% of the time. The only time I take a ranch truck anymore is when it's incredibly cold or raining heavily (two things that haven't happened in STX in quite some time). I have routinely taken a ton of feed along with a ton of people in our 1000 with no issues. All I do as far as maintenance goes is change the oil oil once a year with Polaris Extreme full synthetic oil and a KA oil filter simply because it has a nut on the top that makes it a lot easier process, and every three to four years I take them into the dealer for a full fluid change.

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but what's anybody's thoughts on the Honda Pioneer? A buddy that has one of those and he swears by it so far.

My Can Am Lonestar HD10 with larger bumpers is just at 13' 10" and The Polaris XP1000 Crew is 12' 8". The Mule Pro is 11' What machine are you looking at that is 20' long?

I was being somewhat sarcastic.

I've never measured, only eyeballed. The one Polaris that a dude had at the deer lease a while back that was front and back seat and full sized bed was significantly longer than our Mules, and got stuck on things a lot easier because of the long wheel base compared to any other shorter wheel based side by side. And, frankly, the bed wasn't that much bigger than the Mule's bed in short configuration and it was smaller than mine is when it's in a single seat setup.

Everybody has their preferences. None of the machines out there are perfect either, so pick the one you like best and rock and roll with it.

I have a 17 900XP Ranger with lots of miles and have been happy with it, minus the CV joints breaking every other year.

We have 2 Mules at the plant and I like them a lot.

One thing no one has brought up is the room for the folks who ride in the back seat.
I bought a six place so when I have family or friends they can ride around the ranch with me and have similar comfort like the front row.
Lots of brands rear row of seats are built for the likeness of leprechauns or dwarfs with very little room between the backs of the front seats and the back seats. When sitting in the back seats of some it is akin to being in the back of a cop car with cages.
Yamaha is really bad about that.
If you don't care about the comfort of your back seat passengers then it doesn't really matter I guess. It's also nice if the back seats fold up as well.

Boat racing is like a beautiful woman.......expensive, high maintenance, but well worth the fun!

The room and comfort in the back seat of the Can Am Max Lonestar was one of my deciding factors on it. From the back of front seat to the front of the rear seat back cushion it's 29". It also has the ability to fold all the back seats up for lots of floor space or it has removable storage compartments under them. Here is a couple of pics of one of mine showing the back seat configuration…..seats down and also folded.

PSA: One thing to consider on crew cab SxS is running a piece of pipe insulation around the grab bar in the backseat, it's perfect face/head height for kids and smaller women if the machine ever comes to an abrupt stop.

Have any of you removed the bed on one of these and added a dog box and high seat? Wondering if one or another of these does better with the extra weight on the back.

I have an aluminum high seat in my old Polaris, made down on coast by a place that builds T tops for boats.
