We have a group of 5-6 guys that are looking for a pronghorn hunt.

We aren't really sure where to start looking though.

Open to any state, open to DIY or fully outfitted an anything in between. Mainly just want a good percentage chance.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

I'd like to stay at or under $3500 for fully outfitted. Would really prefer a good diy option if that's possible.

Antelope is great tasting game. I like it better than white tail.

I'd apply in NM, CO and WY. Might get lucky and get a tag.

Without a drawn tag gonna have to get a landowner tag.

Can find some outfitters in that range. Idk any at that cost.

Meat is good. Depends on what they eat.

Good luck

It gets difficult when you try to accommodate 5 to 6 people. You may be able to find something at your price point in Eastern New Mexico in an area that has lesser trophy potential. It would be nearly impossible to draw out in the big game draw. You will need to find landowner tags. I shot two north of Roswell several years ago using this method. I'd be happy to PM you the name of a landowner who may be able to point you in a direction.

Trophy areas will be out of your budget and likely not have the spots available. I killed on last year north of Socorro and it ran 8500 guided.

Really good option but an option that will require a couple of years would be to point bank in Wyoming and draw a unit with 2 to 3 preference points in a couple years.

Apply as a group in WY. There are some units you can draw pretty easily while you build up points in other states.

Contact Dan McBride at Burnet Vet Clinic. He's got some world class country . I think he holds several state records from Texas to Montana.

My dad hunted antelope in multiple states with Dan and his buddies for many years. We were also on a deer lease with Dan when I was a kid in the 90's. He knows Pronghorn

If "Q Creek" in Wyoming is still booking hunting and fishing it's an awesome place. Lot's of acreage.....550,000

If your goal is to hunt this year with a group of 5 to 6 guys Wyoming is probably your only realistic choice being no preference points have been accumulated. Wyoming however would be my #1 pick for antelope hunting and I live right across the line in Eastern Colorado. Good luck!

Their taste is very dependent on where they live. Panhandle antelope don't eat sage, so they're really delicious. New Mexico and Colorado antelope eat tons of sage and can taste like *****

I'll look into wyoming. Are there certain units to try and get into?

As stated, I don't know much about this process.
