I am looking into booking a guided fishing trip with my son who will be 6 this summer when we are vacationing there in June.

I figured since this is Texags and we know things I would ask a few questions.

1. Anyone fished this area and how is it?
2. Does anyone have any recommendations on a guide they have used or know before?
3. Would I need a day license for Alabama/Florida since it is on the state line? Or is that liability covered from the guide?
4. Curious if we catch some decent fish and have them cleaned if the meat would be salvageable for a few days post fishing trip and a 10+ hour drive home before I could get it on something other than ice?

Ideally, I would like to do a morning 2-3 hour fishing trip reasonably priced. Just wanting to enjoy the experience with my son who is in love with fishing.

Inshore/Bay Fishing

Never heard of a 23 hour inshore/bay fishing charter. I'm now intrigued.

Tons of guides to choose from once you select your day and time. Licenses were covered with the fees. One guy in our group lives in MS so we froze the fish overnight at the AIRBNB and then he shipped it to us packaged with dry ice

I'd recommend going to the Walmart/Publix and getting a cooler with dry ice and you should be fine getting it home

When we had a place down there, this is who was recommended. Never used him though, schedules never synced.

To expand on my earlier response, the fishing was great. We limited out on red snapper and trigger fish

Also caught a wahoo while we were trolling out first thing in the morning

Obviously with your time limit you won't be going out as far but I'd imagine you'll have a good guide who will utilize your time frame as efficiently as possible
