275 gallon poly tote fed by an approx 8' by 12' tin roof with a gutter on the edge. The posts are cedar cut from the property and the roof is just framed on 2x4s. We necked the outlet from the tote down to 3/4" and piped to the float valve with a heavy duty 3/4" garden hose buried underground. We theoretically capture about 60 gallons from a 1" rainfall and get some extra from heavy condensation on the tin when it doesn't rain. When it doesn't rain (which has been most of the time lately) we just haul water down to it in 55 gallon plastic drums. We started with a smaller water pan, but replaced it with the one linked below more recently.
