You can get ozone generators for $50 off of eBay, that work wonders. Run them for 30-60 minutes, and it'll take care of lots of smells.

We have a couple of these in the house and they work well at capturing dust and pet hair. You can buy filter cartridges for them that remove odors and toxins as well.
