This is my biggest pet peeve when in elk camp with clients. I dont ever say anything but it is amazing to me to spend $6000+ to ride into the backcountry, hunt elk and at night you are on a freakingIpad or your phone and not enjoying the moment.

same here. but I swear I never see **** when I am just looking an browsing the skyline. If I look down at my phone I always look up to a deer that has me in a bind for getting a shot off.

This works in the duck blind too. I've always sworn the two best duck calls I own are:

Taking a piss

Checking my phone

I hear that. But in my case, an occupied mind never thinks! Gonna make it a point this season to abide by my self enforced rules.

I came here looking for this post. I have not service but if i did, I am sure I would be watching videos. Last place I would sit most of the day and just watch football in the blind.

Since we are passing judgment on other people's activities, I would like to know exactly where the line is.

Tablets and cell phones are bad. Sketch pads and pencils are good. What about ear buds and a radio? What about a novel? A comic book? A playboy (do they even print these anymore?)? What about the little pocket electronic poker games? What about an audio book? What about an audio book about hunting? What about songwriting?

Used to a can of Copenhagen was the best duck call. Never failed that I'd be mid pinch when a flock would fly over and we hadn't seen even a water turkey all day up until then.
