With Teal season opening tomorrow, I figured I'd get this thing going. I've seen some pretty incredible videos on teal in the area I'll be hunting but not sure we have as many total birds down here yet as normal. Regardless, I'll be out and giving them hell!

Be safe out there and have a great season!

My son and I will give it a try Sunday morning in central Texas but I doubt we will see any. Looking forward to going though

Had small flock on pond at farm in Fayette county last weekend. I plan to see if they show up in the morning!

Rocky Creek posted on Instagram a short video with seemingly a few thousand birds on a large shallow water area.

Coulda been AI, could been from past years trying to drive up guide trips... dunno.

Will be giving it a shot Saturday and Sunday.

Hate to be a scrooge but it's just too damn hot for waders and a mud stomp.

Hey teal season Is for shorts and a couple dove mojos on the side of a flooded rice field. Definitely not wader weather yet.

Didn't do great. Had a group of 4 and we only shot two birds on coastal public land. Had a couple other small groups we didn't take shots at.

Some birds around but they didn't want in our water hole. Seemed to be some shooting around

2 teal hunters and 2 limits at our pond this morning. Bass fishing has been great recently there also.
A group of different friends had a good dove hunt Friday with 5 hunters and 60 birds. Was glad to see this Boykin again. He's 11 and has a torn acl and jaw carcinoma so maybe it was his last hunt. I've hunted nearby over the years and he's an absolute machine retrieving.

Not skunked, but only 13 birds with 8 hunters. We shot almost all we saw, but they just stopped coming around 9.

Hunted yesterday morning between Winnie and Devers. No birds flying around us, light shooting off and on around us until about 7:45 AM then nothing. Slow day

Saturday - 11 birds, 3 guys
Sunday - 12 birds, 3 guys

We had low picks both days on the club. Not a bunch of birds in the area… Saturday majority of groups limited though.

Heard a rumor that a bunch of birds were pushed down into CS area and teal were there in good numbers over there. Hoping they all get pushed down towards El Campo and further South.

Sounds accurate based on some pics I saw from moody ranch yesterday.

I Hunted near Danbury yesterday. 12 birds, of course we had 10 in the blind so ratio wasn't great but did better than I expected based on reports.

Also heard same report from Moody but another report from around Sealy said same thing too.

Well, that was a disappointing teal season… I did see some big ducks and look forward to hopefully a bunch of Blue Wings that are stalled up north to be on straps for big duck season.

See y'all in a month! I'll actually be duck hunting opener instead of deer hunting.

It dropped off QUICK. We had limits opening day, 6 man, Sunday 3 of us shot 8 or 9, Tuesday 4 of us shot 10, today I shot 2 solo, and then 3 of us shot 2 on Saturday (if we could do that again I think we could of shot half limits).

With two down counts in a row, I bet next year we see 9 days and 4 bird season

Some videos from opening day.

Never teal hunt my places because I don't want to pressure the deer. But this is the first year that neither place has had a single bird. Normally consistently see small groups all month long.

Family member with a prime property had their first skunk hunt in 26 years.

Glad the teal season was shortened. Kinda afraid to see what regular season has in store.

We need rain water before duck season starts. Many harvested rice fields were not second cropped/ flooded due to the very low price for rice and the high expense for second crop water.

Double edged sword… more rain = more flooded fields/ponds = less concentration of birds. If you have access to water wells and can pump, drier years can be the absolute best.

As a whole, more water is better for everyone though

Good deal. Glad y'all had birds.

According to Instagram, Run-N-Gun killed limits every single hunt it seems like... all 9 days.
