Youtube war on ad blocker is getting harder

This morning, youtube doesn't seem to be working with ad blockers. Is anybody else seeing this?

Watching a video spin and not load, I can watch the counters on ublock origin and ad blocker ultimate increment every few seconds. I hope the blockers can get updated soon

It's a never ending battle. And unfortunately YouTube is just too useful and big to decouple from. No other streaming platforms are within screaming distance and I honestly doubt they ever will be.

I just went to YouTube and videos started immediately. You should be using the Brave browser. Every once in a while, you will need to open a particular site in Chrome/Firefox, because of some compatibility issue.

I will say, YouTube is constantly adjusting to battle ad blockers, even the built-in Brave one. Last week, videos were requiring me to refresh the page one time, after loading the video, due to something YouTube was doing. Whenever this happens, it usually smooths out in a couple of days.

I use Brave on my PC and I use Brave on my cell phone, to avoid YouTube ads on cell phone. I refuse to waste my life watching ads, and why pay for YouTube premium when I don't have to? **** Google, it doesn't bother me in the least bit to get around their bull*****

I've personally really enjoyed YT premium since getting it a few years ago. It works as intended and small things such as "watching" videos with your phone screen turned off is nice.

YT is how I get a majority of my news, sports (football) news/highlights/discussions, product reviews, hobby vids, how to vids... It's endless.

I have zero issues paying for such a great source of info/entertainment.

Agreed, its worth it to just pay and do it correctly and not have to worry about all these work arounds.

I watch youtube probably more than all other streaming combined. Premium is more than worth it for me. Plus, youtube music is included, so you don't have to pay for a separate music streaming service.

Started working later yesterday, t may have just been the morning.

I use Brave for just about everything. I do everything google related in firefox to keep it isolated from other stuff.

Yes, but for some people (like me), we view YT on TVs. I have a TV in my office and I have YT on most of the day, whether that be a scenic background or college football podcasts. YT is also what I'm usually watching at night while falling asleep.

To each their own... but yeah, workarounds are sort of a big deal... much easier to just have the legit / worry free service.

I never said YouTube Music was better. Spotify's UI is better and Spotify's playlists blow YT out of the water. But all the same music is still on YT. If i"m already paying for YT, Spotify isn't SO good that it justifies another $12/mo.

And like jr said, i also watch a lot of YouTube on my TV.

I notice Youtube has also started blocking my popout extension. So now I cant watch in my lower right of my 3rd monitor without resizing the whole tab.

Havent looked for a new extension yet though. so maybe there is another option.

Yeah it pained my cheap ass to pay for YT Premium family. But with two kids, like 10 devices, and realizing how much I personally use it...it's just so worth it. I justify it some by canceling YT TV outside of FB season.

I'm getting closer and closer to shelling out for YT Premium. The amount of ads is becoming increasingly frustrating. I feel like to watch a 20-30 minute video, I end up clicking through more ads than I would if it was an actual cable program. Its ridiculous.

Seriously just had the same ad, 3x in the span of a 5 minute clip

I download the duckduckgo browser and use duckplayer to watch youtube when I don't want tracking. Won't get rid of most ads, but I haven't come across many when using it.
