YouTube TV, Sling, and DirecTV Steam are the only live streaming services not wholly or partially owned by Disney.

I think someone mentioned that DTV is buying or bought DISH Sling. So, we rapidly heading towards the mobile phone market where you have two choices.

As it is, we are now down to 3 choices: Disney, YTTV, or DTV.

I did a 5 day free trial with Directtv stream on Saturday and that got me through MNF last night and I canceled it today.

I have three different email addresses and three different cards so if it's not tied to address I'll plan to do the same for the next two weeks and hope YTTV and Disney figure it out soon.

I'd be surprised they let you do that with the same billing address.

Yes, I think this is the best bet for those of us not wanting to give into Disney just yet, if you are close enough to pick up OTA channels. Need the sports pack add on to get SEC Network, so it comes to $6.48. And the antenna to get the locals, which Sling Orange doesn't include.

I'm now trying to figure out placement of antenna that won't give my wife a seizure upon seeing it. I do not have option of putting this in the attic and dropping cable to tv.

How sensitive are indoor digital antennas to being behind stuff? I could actually place this behind the TV in our built ins but it would be almost wholly blocked by the TV in front of it.

You're asking how fast a car is.

You need to provide the details on the antenna you are using.

**** if I know. I know nothing about them. Something like in this link?: https://www.fcc.gov/sites/default/files/antennas_and_digital_television.pdf

I just want an indoor digital antenna that gets nearby ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX in HD. I wasn't aware there was that much variety.

My first step would be YouTube for "Best indoor HDTV antenna" and look for a video from 2025 that seems to be a decent channel with decent viewership. Use that video to start learning about what's out there. I would want to see what others' experiences are in different situations to make sure it would work in mine.

Placement of generic antenna is useless. You need to first source the correct product based on where you would prefer to put it.

Yeah, I just haven't done much research yet. I assumed there wasn't a ton of product variety out there since the use case is pretty narrow. Assumed it would just come down to geography and placement. Will likely have some issues on the geography front since we are on the coast at sea level.

I've already looked at a signal strength site and 2 of the channels are strong, 2 are moderate, and another one is weak from where we are.

Try something like this. It can be placed behind your tv (see buyer images). I believe you are a bit away from your local channel broadcasts, but this one does have an amplifier to help boost the signal. Worth trying. Return to Amazon if not.

Surprisingly, a very small antenna (about 10 inches) was enough in Frisco to pick up Dallas ABC, NBC, and Fox but not CBS.

I went with this one. Its about as thick as a mousepad and comes with tape to stick it to the back of the TV.

I'm in Allen. I bought a $20 unamplified Best Buy branded one. I had to set up a TV on my back porch and set the antenna 'just right' to get MNF. Inside, nothing. And if I moved the antenna once set up outside, I lost signal easily. Does the amplification make all the difference? In my main living area where the TV is, the south side is blocked by more house, etc. and no south facing windows.

You can make a decent one of cardboard. I've actually done it before and had good success. Was in an apartment in Houston.

Coastal Bend. Already tried this yesterday. It's a no go. I can only get NBC and even then I only get that if I stand in the middle of the room holding the antenna in the air. Don't have a good option of having this near a window without unsightly cord and antenna itself being exposed.

I discovered a back door with my internet anyway so I at least get ESPN and ESPN2 free through ATT internet. Of our game ends up on ESPN3, then I'll get a sling day pass.

I just went with Fubo. It comes with ESPN Unlimited as well as all the basic channels and several other good channels.

I used the Fubo free trial yesterday and it was garbage. First it was giving me "Your current video setup is not permitted" Had to disconnect the HDMI switch I use to go between my laptop and desktop on my monitor. After that it would often would give Failure to Load error anytime I tried to play, skip or go back. I would have to refresh and sometimes it would skip back to the beginning of the game or a few minutes back. Also would randomly mute the sound. I tried it both in Firefox and Chrome with the same crappy results.
