Anyone use xfinity cell phone service? I'm on Verizon now but xfinity is like 1/3 the cost and uses the Verizon network.

What's the downside? They told me you get de-prioritized in high congestion situations but i don't think that'll effect me too much, especially if I can save $100/ month.

Any reason not to switch that I'm missing? Their sales guy says xfinity invested in Verizon when they built the 5g network so they get really good pricing to sell their network as a result. Seems like they're just buying market share and pricing will go up in a few years, but i could save some money until that happens.

I've had it a few times and never had issues. Had it for the last year with deals. They expired and I went to the Xfinity store to renegotiate and they basically said "There are no deals for existing customers, your bill is what it is." So F them, leaving for "new customer" deals at TMobile with Costco. Also dropping their internet for ATT. The same BS every year or two hopping back and forth for new customer deals. It's ridiculous.

I've had it and had zero issues. Considering switching back.

As for their deals for "new customers"....not sure what that's about. Their service is one of the cheapest out there for all customers. When we had it, it was $30 per line (unlimited) for 2 lines. Our all-in bill was like $63. Unless you're talking about Xfinity cable, then yeah, agree.

AT&T and Verizon can't compete with that. T-Mobile was close, but the service sucked at our house and their wifi wouldn't let my wife VPN for some reason. Only other options that come close price wise are the Crickets, etc. But they generally don't offer the "free phone" incentives that Xfinity does.

Edit to add: as for the deprioritization, never experienced it. Only time I struggled with service everyone I was with also struggled with service. Think A&M games, etc.

I did have an insane deal with XFinity where I had 5 unlimited lines and was paying like $45 a month. After that expired it went up to $120, which yes is cheap compared to other big dogs.

However, through Costco I just signed up for TMobile for 5 unlimited lines for a total of $120 a month , and also got four iPhone 15s for free with no trade in, five $75 Costco gift cards, no activation fee, free shipping.

Adios Xfinity

Yeah I think if we switch back we get one line free for a year.

But, to be honest, I'm more understanding of promotions like that going away than the big carriers like AT&T where your bill goes from $130 to $190 for 2 lines. Slight hyperbole
