I am so tired of needing a USB-C and finding some bull **** one that came with item I bought from amazon or some other piddly thing. They always suck, never last long, and never charge well. So I want to replace all of my USB-C chargers and cords.

4X small wall cube charger and 8ft cord
5X charger for a macbook or hp laptop
6X 3-4Ft USB-C to USB-C charging cords
2X 2ft USB-C to USB-C charging cords
2X 4 port USB-C wall charger
1X multi-port charger that can handle USB-A and USB-C

Obviously charging speeds are my top concern. I really want to maximize the power output as much as possible. I'm not opposed to braided cords but really care more about durability. I've used some braided cords in the past that were incredibly stiff and the Apple branded cords have been pretty worthless in my experience.
I was just going to go with Anker for my shopping list but wondered if there was a better option.

For speeds look for cables that are thunderbolt 3 and thunderbolt 4 certified. They'll both offer transfer speed as fast as you need and they'll carry any charging capability. Deciding which one fits your needs better will depend on what devices you use it for.

I didn't even realize it was that many.

-4X small wall cube charger and 8ft cord
(one each for bedside and two spares for travel)

-5X charger for a macbook or hp laptop
(one charger for wife's macbook, one for my laptop, one for wife's office, two for when we are both working on the couch)

-6X 3-4Ft USB-C to USB-C charging cords
(two for in the car connection, 4 for various other devices)

-2X 2ft USB-C to USB-C charging cords
(for charging off smaller battery packs when we travel and are away from hotel room)

-2X 4 port USB-C wall charger
(Traveling one for me one for my wife)

-1X multi-port charger that can handle USB-A and USB-C
(mostly for traveling as I still have a few things that don't use USB-C)

I realize it's excessive, but we have a lot of devices that use USB-C. We also tend to travel quite a bit for work and pleasure. On the work side of things sometimes we are together, sometimes not. We also have a bunch of battery packs, lights, etc for filming content and they all use USB-C. Many times we need to charge them all at once.

On the personal side of things we each have laptops, cell phones, my work phone, my ear buds, my watch, then there are all of the accessories for my desktop, etc. It adds up really quickly.

I have a couple of these in my travel bag that helps cut down on cables.

I keep Anker cords and chargers in:
1) house for everyday use
2) laptop bag
3) carry-on suitcase
4) car
5) purse (one cheap cord with multiple charges cables on 1 charger)

I like the L shaped cords so you don't ruin your charging port while holding phone or tablet.

This is in my purse with a small anker charging brick. It will handle my phone, ipad, watch, and charge on usb or usb-c.

I mean I just move the cables from one room to the next if I need them. Or unplug it and take it with me when I travel.

Yeah, I have one for my nightstand, one at the office, and one in the truck. When I travel, I take the one from my nightstand and throw it in my bag.

I went through 3 years of medical treatment which involved multiple surgeries and Houston Dr Appt's. That is when you buy a set of cords for every situation.

Look I am not saying my approach is rational. I might be able to trim one laptop cord off the list.

We both work from home and while I usually work from my office desktop for my 9-5, I typically work on the couch for my side gig. My wife is an author so she often works from several places. She has a basement office (with a couch), the couch upstairs in our living room, an off site office, her coauthor's house, and a couple random coffee shops. She keeps a cord in her bag, one for the living room couch, and one at the offsite office.

I just feel like so many things use USB-C and no longer come with charging blocks so it's always a struggle trying to find one at the house. Things I don't even think about until I need them like my xbox controllers, nintendo switch, airfly pro, small ryobi rechargeable batteries, bluetooth speakers, etc. Hell we even have a few flameless candle lighters that charge via a USB-C cord.

I think the multi port cords would be a good option for travel though. Sometimes we are in the middle of a convention floor with no outlets in sight. A typical convention day for us means:

2 battery packs
2 fans
1 selfie light
1 larger light for filming
at least one laptop

I like to keep my charging cords and chargers in specific places as well.
1. Full set in my work backpack
2. Full set in each vehicle
3. Charging stand by the bed for phone, watch, ear buds
4. Full set in travel bag
5. Chargers and cables in home office, TV room and basement

I don't like moving chargers and cables because they always end up missing :-)

Had really good luck with UGREEN.

One I leave at work gets used 24/7 by someone whether I am there or not. It's lasted over 2 years between 30ish people.

Impressive.

Nah, I've added a dedicated wall charger and associated cords to my travel bag.

I travel often for work so risk of forgetting a charger isn't worth the money saved.

edit: But Anker is the preference here, and not all USB-C cables are the same. Make sure yours are rated for high enough wattage to charge the laptops and such that you mentioned.

In addition to this always make sure your spouse and kids are knee deep in chargers as well or yours will go missing.

I use Anker or Ugreen products. Anker is the best in the business.

My favorite charger I'm using right now is a Ugreen 30W. It's the best travel charger. It's just enough to power any large device: iPad Pro, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam Deck, MacBook Pro, Meta Quest 3. I use it for my M1 MacBook Pro 16" and usually doesn't have trouble keeping my Mac charged when in use. I leave the heavy 120W charger at home. 30W is the sweet spot, imo.

For cables, I need to invest in some high speed ones next but yea buy quality cables that can handle high loads.

The biggest problem in the electronics world is the USB 2.0 USB C. There are some cheap Chinese products out there that only take low wattage, usb 2.0 usb C. So if you take some fancy charger like the 30W charger and attempt to charge that device, it won't work. Then there's the cheap usb c cables that only allow power and not data. USB-C is a mess.

My recommendation is test your devices on the new fancy chargers before throwing out the cheap USB-C chargers and cables because some may not work and you'll have to have on hand a couple of the cheap ones.

Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame invited some guys on his youtube show to perform an industrial CT of different USB C cables to see what the real difference was. It was very interesting and I think you guys would enjoy it.

Really goes to show you that there is some value in the nicer cables. Hell, I was transferring a VM the other day to a SSD and the estimated time was going to be long (like several hours.) Then I realized that the USB C cable was a cheaper one and not the good ones I typically use. I swapped cables and it transmitted an 80 GB VHD in less than a minute.

I couldn't tell you how many cables I travel with, but I never seem to have enough. But that is also a function of what I do. I have multiple cable organizer pouches in my work bag. Chargers that just live there. But I also travel a lot and have been caught out without access to different things. I'm not going to have that happen again.

The main problem is that there are about a dozen different protocols for USB-C. There's basic charging cables, power delivery cables, thunderbolt 3/4/5 cables. USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to USB-C, etc. They all have different data transfer speeds and plenty of laptops and PCs have USB-C ports but aren't thunderbolt capable.

The average person doesn't know that there are different USB cables and will often just buy a cheap one and get frustrated when it doesn't work well.

That was me a couple years ago!

My wife's laptop took USB-C, I had a USB cord, and was quite frustrated that it wouldn't take a charge from a USB-C wall charger.

Then I learned a little, bought better equipment, and now it makes sense.

But yeah, one of the key points is to avoid the super cheap cables unless you're just charging a phone over night and don't care about the speed, power, or how long it takes.

Yeah, I have nice cables that I use for work that I need to work when I need them to. I have decent cables that I use for charging and whatnot that will just last longer. Then I have cables that I buy in bulk for my wife because she is so hard on cables. She like chews through them.
