Do the rules state that the field goal holder has to setup exactly 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage? With the multiple blocked kicks we've seen this year (Bears just beat the Raiders on a blocked kick), why not setup 10-12 yards deep? If the defenders have to cover more ground to block a kick, it should make blocking it more difficult, correct?

That would shorten the angle the outside guys have to take right? I think they'd get there quicker if the kicker is deeper
