I was curious to see how an LLM AI team would do and decided to let Grok make every draft pick in my low stakes work league.

My process was pretty straightforward…
1) input league settings(scoring, roster spots, etc.)
2) input draft spot
3) input every draft selection in order in batches to try and avoid the daily message limit
4) make every selection the AI recommended
4a) if it recommended multiple options, pick the 1st option

Draft spot: 1st pick
Scoring: Standard .5 point PPR
Roster: 1QB; 2WR; 2RB; 1TE; 1FLEX; 1DEF; 6 Bench

It generally has a clear cut rec through round 12. The last three it gave options and I took the first suggestion.

Very interesting, but this would be the killer for me. WAY too much work to input all of that.

This is pretty cool.

For next year's draft I would feed it the ADP for 1 QB leagues on whichever site is hosting and instruct it to predict your opponent's most likely picks after each new pick is made (and thus who is or is not likely to fall back to you if you pass on them). And then weigh that along with best player available and position need to determine who to pick. Essentially what humans who use tiers in their rankings attempt to do.

How much data did you put in for each player? Stats or just the name and let Grok find the rest on its own?

I'm not the OP so I put in exactly zero data for any players.

It wasn't that bad with a key board but it definitely required my full attention the entire draft.

Zero data. It web crawled espn, fantasypros, a few others and did its own research.

" I need you to help me create a general draft strategy for a 12 person snake draft. What info would you need if I can't tell you what draft position I'll be in?"

After that I just told it .5 PPR, the roster setup, and my draft position. Then:

" Im going to type who gets picked as we go and let you update recommendations"

We were off to the races after that.

That sounds kinda fun

Updated week 2 with points. It didn't perfectly optimize, and I'll be interested to see if it recommends picking Wan'dale Robinson back up after dropping him, but overall it wasn't a bad week.
