Don't know who Paxton is but I heard Trump endorsed him.

So MAGA assumes he is good.

LOL, most MAGA supported him and were pissed when rumors were he was going to endorse Cornyn. I think it was more MAGA changed Trump's mind.

The inherent problem with all those spouting that KP was some crook is that we all saw the evidence. We all saw the trial.

When the house voted, we didn't see any. Many house members said Impeach because they are run by libs. But, Paxton didn't give up. He FORCED the libs to PRESENT their case.

And we all saw it.

That's why all this BS means jack ***** There was no case. There was no evidence. The only evidence was hearsay. You can't convince us because we all saw it. First hand.

After the impeachment the Whistleblowers went back to court and wanted to Paxton and his aides to testify in a deposition. When it was made obvious he would have to testify he consented to judgement. The Whistleblowers were awarded 6.6 million.

But once the judgement was awarded he filled an appeal because the legislature was still in session. He dropped the appeal after the legislature adjourned for the year.

If he was so innocent of this supposed witch hunt why was he so scared to testify and save the state 6.6 million dollars? Plus the 1.2 million dollars in interest it will accrue by 2027 if it not paid.

Years ago, I learned to not care about indiscretions from a politician that was very effective in his job. So, libs, spare me the moral outrage. Bill Clinton taught me that this just doesn't matter to most of the electorate, no matter how much Saul Alinsky wanted you to believe it still works today.

Have we calmed over the controversies?

If not, don't fret. This can be used as a less than 15 second tv ad spot against the competitor that saves us all a lot of worry.

With Paxton the likely candidate, I may well stay home Nov. 3. I know for a fact others in my social circle (all straight line Trump voters) will do the same, or skip voting for him at least. Policies are generally all fine, but the man isn't worth my endorsement.

Not ideal for sure. Hope enough folks show up to keep out the dem's pet heretic.

Is the intent to attempt to teach the GOP a lesson by letting the left loons + suburban housewives elect a dude that makes Joel Osteen look like Wes Huff?

Nah, no intent to teach a lesson. Just not going to vote for someone with the baggage. Wasn't excited for a Cornyn repeat. Would have happily supported Wes Hunt.

I think you are mixing cases. Are you doing so on purpose?

There was one case where the whistleblowers said that Paxton forced them to "do something bad".

There was another case where the whistleblowers filed suit because Paxton fired them.

Do you realize that these are separate cases, and involve separate sets of facts?

It all ties together. He fired them for going to the Feds about him making them do something bad . Again if he did nothing wrong why not testify fight this and save the state over 8 million dollars.

Quite possible that he broke the whistleblower laws even if the whistleblowers brought the case in bad faith. The veracity of the original claim doesn't impact their protection from retaliation.

If you want to make the case that he never should have retaliated, even if the whistleblowers were FOS, that is a different argument. It's a valid argument, but, its not the same one that you are trying to make.
