Roy is a brilliant attorney with a deep knowledge of the law and how to apply it. He knows how to be effective and not just throw out slogans. For AG you want a high IQ guy that knows how to work the law. Middleton only seems to want to be AG so he can run for something else. We need a serious AG who can win lawsuits.

Chip Roy has my vote.

He has the Constitutional law experience needed to be an effective AG.

He negotiates to make the legislation as conservative as possible and still get it passed which is why Trump was impatient with him for a little while.

He is willing to take a stand to uphold the Constitution instead of just being a yes-man to someone that might suggest they take the guns first before due process or push amnesty.

I trust Ted Cruz's endorsement of Chip Roy for AG.

2) Roy is actually a conservative. Chief of Staff for Cruz and was part of a Cruz PAC in 2016
3) Cruz endorsed Roy

Warned by who? Told by who? That could be totally made up or coming from a MAGA Middleton campaign staffer.

And I seriously doubt a newly elected AG from a deep red Republican state is going after a newly elected Republican United States Senator from his state. Not going to happen.

Thy guy is an independent journalist and has been pretty spot on many times. I won't deny that he's an Paxton fan, but to think Roy, who is known to keep grudges, wouldn't try to pull something like this is willful ignorance. Paxton fired him, he said Trump's actions on January 6th were impeachable (even though he voted not to impeach), and he's also a prominent supporter of Liz Cheney while being backed by the Bush family.

What a dumb story. Roy threatens to go after Paxton to get Cornyn the endorsement. Why would Trump care if someone goes after then Senator Paxton? If he stepped down, Abbott would appoint someone Trump loved.

I will be voting for Chip Roy.

Having spent several years as a prosecutor, I can't believe so many people want to put "MAGA Mayes" into the AG's office. He's completely unqualified.

There is so much BS in Texas GOP politics that unless you really dedicate the time to following it, it's pretty hard to decipher. Texas GOP really needs to get its sh** together.

That said, Chip's record is pretty solid and "MAGA Mayes" is just so pandering and dumb.

I had a great interview with Chip Roy in August 2021 where is talks about his experience and his stand on many of the issues for which he is being attacked today. He's not running for anything when he did this interview and you can tell that he's a solid conservative IMO. I also have an interview I did with Middleton that's I'll look for and post here.
