I still believe in the Constitution. I despise leftists because they're historically the quickest to authoritarianism. I'm not a huge fan of extreme right either. I'm not entirely sure what we are seeing now, but it blows my mind that f16 has abandoned reason and conservative principles for it.

These Trump clowns will defend anything and attack anyone. I think they fall in two camps: 1. Pure Trump love and 2. Those fearful of leftism and who will swallow any level of corruption to defeat it.

I think it's much simpler than that. Most garden variety middle class conservatives got sick and tired of being ridiculed for 40 years by the liberals.

Liberals by and large were a little more educated, a little more upwardly mobile, and frankly a little faster & funnier. They embraced snark & sarcasm much quicker and with much more success. And to their detriment and ultimate downfall, their condescension & arrogance became a feature rather than a bug.

Then, Trump came along and said, "You know what? These same knuckleheads have been making fun of me too. I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore." (Pardon the cliche)

So he made it ok to punch back. He made it ok to be a jerk. He made it ok to be crass & vulgar. He made it ok to tell them out loud he hates them.

That's gotta be a heck of a release for tens of millions of people who felt angry, bitter and marginalized but didn't feel comfortable saying it.

I get it. It breaks my heart because I never knew so many people were that angry. And some of the things that make them that angry don't make any sense to me, but I get it.

And I absolutely love that about his being elected. That's why I voted for him three times, and if faced with a serious leftist candidate, I'd vote for him again ("my authoritarianism is better than yours")

The most disappointing thing to me about Trump's popularity is that he has always been a liar, cheat and grifter. It was documented for years - and never really doubted - while he was in NYC. And while he waved his blue pom pom, everyone dismissed him as a trust fund game show host playboy joke. But then he picked up a red one, and all the sudden he wasn't the guy that bankrupted four casinos, he was a genius businessman.

I think Tucker is completely rational and has been 100% correct on the Iran war so far. It's Trump who has strayed from reality, not Tucker, Maddie, MTG, etc

Muslims do not belong in the United States. We won't stop them from free exercise of worship while in the borders of the U.S., but it needs to be clear that Islam is not compatible with western civilization and the Muslims we have here are a courtesy, not an invitation to rule.

I like a lot of what Carlson says. He presents an image of a self sufficient man enjoying life. But I don't know what he really believes or what things are really like. I know he's a fan of Wendel Berry's vision for our nation. He seems like a guy that learned from his mistakes and acknowledges where he was wrong. He's apologized many times. His politics are largely in line with mine - essentially the politics that voted for Trump. But, It could all be a charade for what I know.

All that said, his Islamic positive and anticapitalist rhetoric is getting odd. I need to listen to his latest monologue in full before believing the posted vlios.

He's a slightly less BSC version of Candice Owen's. He's all about clicks and cash.
