Yes, im aware. Slow decay or let's just get there and let it blow up as quickly as possible.

Fun choice

The Dems don't play though, they want to change the rules so they will get permanent power and I'd rather not end up having to have a civil war to fix it. Trump is a pragmatist and chooses to fight for some issues and ignore others. The House and Senate Leadership if very weak. Yet it is far more likely we will see people going after Chip Roy or Thomas Massie or Rand Paul or Ted Cruz or Ron DeSantis instead of the RINOs that do this crap and that definitely includes Trump leading that charge.

Overall we are making slow progress but it's very frustrating our leaders like Johnson and Thune are so weak.

It is extremely frustrating that even when the GOP is in power, they actually don't do anything and usually backstab their base. Year after year. Slow progress indeed

The reality is they are barely in power to be fair, having a tiny majority is very hard to govern with because you always have a portion that are useless. So unless the President has 55-60% Approval numbers or you have a solid 30-40 seat majority (or 60 in the Senate) it takes really effective leadership to get things done and you still have to pick your battles.

You know why? Because the GOP always backstabs their base. When the Left has a 1 seat majority, they do whatever they want.

Lesson there

Alright, now I'm confused so my rep (Cloud) was not on the list of 76. Apologies to him.

No argument there, the Dems have ballbuster leaders that keep their folks in line. We also attack conservatives and ignore the RINOs but most people don't pay attention to that.

It's a simple message. You MIGHT lose your seat if you vote with party leadership. But we can GUARANTEE that you'll lose your seat if you vote against us. No money, no support, no nothing. And we'll support a well funded primary challenger.

No, I am not talking about current year. I am talking about every year for the last 20 years. Probably longer but my memory only goes back 20 politically

You can't blame voters for choosing "bad" over "worse" every election. Trying to teach the Republicans a lesson by handing power to the Marxists would be instant national suicide. Until it's time to water the tree this is the best we can do.

Yeah I'm done with the "at least the GOP is better than the Democrats". This "lesser of 2 evils" argument is why they get away with backstabbing us year after year. I will be taking my own side

Yes, it is. But I'd rather get stabbed in the back than shot in the head from the front by Democrats. Spiting the Republicans is lower on my wishlist than self-preservation is.

Who is more treacherous, your enemy who shoots you in the head or your enemy pretending to be your friend who stabs you in the back?

Yes, I imagine he would. Is it a virtue to die faster or something?

I mean, if you're that nihilistic there's faster ways out

Enjoy Democrats dominating your life then.

Look, I have been where you are and voted Libertarian at times for that matter. The solution is to work to take over the GOP not to take your ball and go home. That's how you end up with true socialists in charge. Have to keep fighting. Opting out is a terrible idea, all you do is leave a vacuum for the worst of the worst.

None of this is defending the GOP. 99% of politicians suck, the only way to get what you want from them is to make them fear you and the consequences of crossing you. It can work. That's how we got Ted Cruz instead of David Dewhurst. It's how we got Mike Lee instead of Bob Bennett. It's how we got rid of the Bushes.

Make no mistake though this war doesn't ever end. Realize that within both parties you have professional pols that actually would prefer just being in the minority because that's the best job ever. They don't have to do anything but shout at the other guy and never be held responsible while they live the good life. Being a Senator is the ultimate club for instance, it's a great life.

Do as you like but don't complain when the Democrats get control and do everything they can to destroy your life.

Most of those republicans are just like the trash here in Texas. Uniparty RINOs.

That is something we could actually fix, here in Texas, if conservative voters would grow some balls and actually vote out the moderates in the primaries.

First you have to stop the crossover votes from the Dems voting in the Republican primaries.

K. I guess we all have to take our own journey, just trying to help you learn from my mistakes. BTW, the "dignity" of voting for someone who has no chance of winning instead of the lesser of two evils is overrated and the consequences of getting the really bad option in is far worse than you are imagining. Your call.

Eh. I lived through many Democrat admins. They didn't do anything for me. But the GOP never did anything for me either so.

This is all a moot debate; the GOP, who is in power RIGHT NOW, is not deporting anyone. The demographics are blue so don't worry about me.

This country will never recover. This admin was the only slight chance we had, and Trump is 100% focused on foreign policy while ignoring domestic policy.

Congress is not stupid. They are taking advantage of that while he's distracted so they can bolster their cash cow. F* every one of them.

I don't think he's distracted. Mike Johnson just off doing what the uniparty wants.

Let's see if the senate nukes this or if Trump vetos.
