As soon as a suspect open fires on a cop, the shooting doesn't stop till the suspect is either arrested or carried in a body bag. Preferably in a body bag. As long as the suspect is alive and kicking, he or she is a threat. Its how I was trained and how thousands of other LEO's are trained. Kudos to the officer for running the guy over he definitely plays GTA .

The Berg video was required watching for us before my first deployment. Not to make us hate per se, but to show what happened if we got captured. We got second hand knowledge of that when the 10th Mountain had some guys abducted in the province next to us. Couple of them were executed quickly but the other two were tortured to death over the course of a year. The entire area locked down and we dropped everything and went into full search mode for weeks. Kicking in doors and asking a lot of hard questions. To no avail, sadly.

You are right, there is just something so....primal and evil about helpless humans being beheaded. I was there during the height of the sectarian violence. We and the insurgents fought and killed each other but the stuff they did to each other is something I will carry to the grave.
