Now opinions may lean one direction or the other, but given that its an Aggie board, A&M is in Texas, and for a long history of the university it attracted folks with more conservative values, then those opinions will trend "conservative".

I am glad ICE arrested the Target employee who took a swing at a Federal Agent. This is just another liberal claim that ICE and border patrol are targeting Americans based on fear and appearance, treating citizens like criminals in their own country.

Communist strongholds like Italy, Japan and Switzerland require non-citizens to carry their passport on them at all times.

I would think those in the United States legally would follow similar rules. If you are a foreign national, you could / should;d carry your passport. If you are a US citizen and don't want to be hassled due to ongoing ICE enforcement in your area… carry your ID. If you are associating with non-citizens and could be mistaken as part of the non-citizen group and you want to reduce / eliminate the risk you will be questioned and detained, carry your passport.

These things are not hard and are symbols of a highly evolved society that understands some things must be compromised on for the good of all citizens.

You carrying a passport so I don't have to fear my nieces being raped by Tren de Aragua that Biden and friends invited in is being part of a civilized society.

The irony of showing your passport being arcane but then letting in 20 million unvetted criminal immigrants is supposed to be evolved, progressive society? Ironic indeed.

You may have missed the point. They are NOT communist strongholds (and neither is Italy these days) but they REQUIRE, BY LAW to carry your passport on your person at all times if your are a non-citizen.

They are probably the two cleanest, well managed, functional, and civil countries on the planet. Outside of the airport, I really don't recall even seeing cops in Switzerland when I was there last year.

I have traveled to a few countries and always followed the advice of having a copy of my passport on me with the original in the hotel safe or flipped with original on me and copy in the safe.

Depending on the destination, I will go ahead and let the us consulate or embassy know of our travel. You only have to hear about a few kidnappings, coups, and civil unrest happening whilst you are outside the US that you take these things more seriously and don't scoff at the notion of "show your papers" being a serious game.

So apparently 2 Target employees detained and hauled away by ICE. Then they're dumped back off after being roughed up. Both are US citizens.

1. One apparently has his passport in his pocket. That's random as hell.
2. I looked around but just not seeing this getting covered in enough reliable type reports.
