Go WOKE in the 24th centaury go broke in the 21st.

Where no man has gone (or wanted to go) before.

Serious does Paramount know their demographics? How many woke women actually watch Star Trek?

I used to watch Star Trek reruns with my dad in the late 70's/early 80s. In hindsight, dad was never a sci-fi guy nor watched much tv at all, so I assume the draw was the women were hot and wore amazing tight outfits.

Sorry nerds that your franchise got Kathleen Kennedy'd.

You should also post this on the Entertainment Board and get their input.

I haven't watched anything past Voyager and Enterprise and by all accounts I do not regret it one bit. Just FYI, DS9 is some of the best SciFi writing out there still.

That thing on the left is supposed to be Jem'Hadar. The genetically engineered all male fighting force that are addicted to fentanyl. As soon as I saw it, I knew this show was going to suck.

Discovery sucked. Strange New Worlds sucks. I don't understand why producers can't just give the fans what they want. Picard was ok but could have been so much better.

It died a few years ago. It has always been a progressive show since the beginning, but the latest several series have been so woke they jumped even their progressive sharks.

Honestly didn't know it was still living!

By the smell of this, I'd say it's dead for sure!

Except for Picard season 3 and a few episodes of Discovery when they brought Pike in, Star Trek has been absolute ass. I grew up with TNG and DS9 but it's been downhill since. The Chris Pine Star Trek reboot movie was pretty good, but just the first one.

Star Trek should've stayed dead after Picard and crew.

The movies with Pine were okay, but the shows look lame on every level, and that's before this new abomination.

Hold on folks, one more memory just popped up out of my dome.

I think it was 8th grade health class, probably 1988. We had to watch a film on venereal diseases from the 70's. It was hosted by Leonard Nimoy. That's right, we got to learn about stuff that makes your pee burn by none other than Spock.

It really was the time to be alive.

Ira Steven Behr said the same basic thing. He believed that after Enterprise, Star Trek needed to "rest" for 20 years before coming back.

Now that would've been great.

Paramount putting out Star Trek shows, one after the other, to try and give people a reason to sign up for their streaming service just makes the brand even worse than it is.

It's cheap and lazy and off-putting to those of us who might have been interested but now won't even bother.

It's actually kinda fitting. They are just employing the SpaceX model for SciFi. Strip out as many things as possible that make a ST show watchable until it explodes in execution. They finally did it.

I've been waiting for them to reboot DS9, but Odo is dead and Avery Brooks is crazy. I was really hoping they'd bring some of the characters back for Picard. I'm surprised they didn't at least find a way to work Quark in.

Colm Meaney would have been easier. They brought in a main antagonist species from DS9 for Picard season 3.

I thought Strange New Wolrds was pretty good and felt like what made the first couple series good.

Everything else has been absurdly woke garbage. Even Picard fit the crusty old white guy gets lectured by womins and minority, trope. This new one looks ****ing awful.

Rene's son could play Odo easily. Sounds just like his dad and look a lot like him too.

And in Picard Season 3, Worf's contact within the Dominion is obviously a reference to Odo.

I doubt they'll reboot DS9. They'll just keep churning out crap like SA, Discovery, S31, which won't require paying any royalties to the creators.

Bonus post, if you Google "Is Starfleet Academy woke garbage" you'll get a lecture from Gemini how you are wrong.

Conversely, if you Google "are Republicans Nazis" you'll get a nuanced discussion on the merits of the argument.

I'm a TOS loyalist. That's the ST I grew up with. NG and DS9 had a lot of good moments. But the only ST series that I have thoroughly enjoyed as much as TOS have been Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds. Skip all the rest and you're not missing anything IMO. LD and SNW are brilliant. Don't miss those.

As for this one, nope. Looks completely ridiculous.

Alex Kurtzman ran that IP into the ground. Only enjoyment these days from ST is watching Redlettermedia break down how bad each episode is.
