I don't think 600k Chinese are coming in.

So many things, maybe this is a deepfake video. Maybe Trump misspoke.

Let's discuss when this is announced by Karoline Leavitt announces this. Trump says one thing and sometimes does another so let's not panic.

It likely would be a silent concession in Tariff decisions. We'll have a higher tariff for kore students.

I wouldn't mind requiring all Chinese nationals to pass 3 credit hour course annually on the Chinese democracy movement that was brutally crushed in 1989 as well as another course on the systematic corruption and oppression of the Chinese Communist government.

At the new student conferences at Texas A&M, the Administrators are very Giddy about the " First Generation Students". They even have a special meeting with them at intermission.

All the Chinese need to do is claim to be a First Generation Student. Auto Admit.

These are clearly targeted for admission, but I have to ask if Any are Verified to actually be First Generation Students.

"administrators" are all out to make money without caring about the long term impacts. I don't blame them, it is not their job.

It is the job of the Government to regulate this. Yes, we need more regulation.

On all the tariffs on China, who do you think the payer of those tariffs? It's not China. Why would they take less profit when they can just pass those fees to the consumer.

It's hard to keep up with some of you. Trump announces that company ABC is pledging to build a $55 million widget plant in Waxahachie and you scoff saying it never will be followed through on. Now he says something about 600k Chinese students and it's the gospel. He says a lot of stupid ****, some of this we are just going to have to wait on to see what actually happens.

In much, much better Trump admin foreign student news, DHS is apparently going to propose a new rule today limiting foreign students to 4 years or the duration of their degree program, whichever is shorter.

The proposal comes after President Donald Trump signaled on Monday that the United States would accept up to 600,000 Chinese college students as part of his trade talks with Beijing.

A DHS spokesperson told Politico on Wednesday that the proposed rule is meant to fix a system that was abused by foreign students who tried to stay in the country indefinitely.

"For too long, past administrations have allowed foreign students and other visa holders to remain in the U.S. virtually indefinitely, posing safety risks, costing untold amounts of taxpayer dollars, and disadvantaging U.S. citizens," the spokesperson said. "This new proposed rule would end that abuse once and for all by limiting the amount of time certain visa holders are allowed to remain in the U.S., easing the burden on the federal government to properly oversee foreign students and history."

I strongly support this change.
