Not sure what kind of justification you can use to support this one
For everyone who will defend it, their only justification will be that it's Trump.
For many, that is the only justification they need.
Maga is nothing if not consistent.

So if it's 600K over 4 year as some suggests it is at a minimum a 25% reduction in what's happening right now, given that last year there were over 275K chinese students.
I wouldn't mind requiring all Chinese nationals to pass 3 credit hour course annually on the Chinese democracy movement that was brutally crushed in 1989 as well as another course on the systematic corruption and oppression of the Chinese Communist government.Rapier108 said:Colonel Kurtz said:

At the new student conferences at Texas A&M, the Administrators are very Giddy about the " First Generation Students". They even have a special meeting with them at intermission.
All the Chinese need to do is claim to be a First Generation Student. Auto Admit.
These are clearly targeted for admission, but I have to ask if Any are Verified to actually be First Generation Students.

Did you watch the video? Though trump has been known to lie so I can't blame you if you did.

Dumb question here but is 600,000 an actual reduction?

On all the tariffs on China, who do you think the payer of those tariffs? It's not China. Why would they take less profit when they can just pass those fees to the consumer.

It's hard to keep up with some of you. Trump announces that company ABC is pledging to build a $55 million widget plant in Waxahachie and you scoff saying it never will be followed through on. Now he says something about 600k Chinese students and it's the gospel. He says a lot of stupid ****, some of this we are just going to have to wait on to see what actually happens.

Soooo, we're giving 600k Chinese students spots at the top universities, pushing American students down to lower universities in order to keep them from going out of business, according to Lutnick? Yay, America First!

Not at all saying I agree with this, but it could be a honeypot, if done correctly.

Foreign students can currently stay in the United States on a student visa for as long as they are enrolled at a college full-time, but the proposed rule would limit their stay to the duration of their program, with a cap at four years.
The proposal comes after President Donald Trump signaled on Monday that the United States would accept up to 600,000 Chinese college students as part of his trade talks with Beijing.
A DHS spokesperson told Politico on Wednesday that the proposed rule is meant to fix a system that was abused by foreign students who tried to stay in the country indefinitely.
"For too long, past administrations have allowed foreign students and other visa holders to remain in the U.S. virtually indefinitely, posing safety risks, costing untold amounts of taxpayer dollars, and disadvantaging U.S. citizens," the spokesperson said. "This new proposed rule would end that abuse once and for all by limiting the amount of time certain visa holders are allowed to remain in the U.S., easing the burden on the federal government to properly oversee foreign students and history."
