87% critics, 43% audience score on RT. Can't imagine how that happened
RT is illegitimate. That's how that happens.

TLJ. Never forget.

BP was grossly overrated but was just another average marvel affair. TLJ was a steaming pile with like 97% on RT. I can't think of a worse misdirection by the critics.

I just checked both TLJ and this show on RT. The critic and audience numbers are almost a mirror image between the two.

Well, not really.
BP is 96 to 79. (Critic vs audience)
TLJ is 91 to 41.
Audience scores for both those are more reflective of reality than critic scores.

TLJ was at literally 97 or 98 when it came out. Like scored damn near perfect. That was the day rotten tomatoes was officially a dumpster fire.

Funny but true.

I actually didn't think the first episode was bad. Seeing Picardo back as the Doctor was just so good! He has still got it down and had me cracking up.
Only eye roll was the obvious butch lesbian bridge officer, but whatever lol.
I'm gonna watch the second episode and see where this goes. I'm expecting a Janeway cameo at some point, maybe Even Kim or Tuvok.
I can only hope that Kim is still an Ensign after 25 years

Well, I managed to watch the whole first 2 episodes. I wouldn't call it horrible. Its definitely for a different audience than traditional Trek, but that's not always a bad thing. Not sure Holly Hunter's hippie vibe really works here, but I do like her as an actor in general so I can look the other way there. The Klingon will definitely end up gay. Surprised they didn't go the pronoun route with the hologram girl - props for them not going there (at least so far).
I'll continue to watch and see if it grows on me or not. The first couple episodes of any new series is always a crap shoot - sometimes everyone gels after working together and comes together as a cast, sometimes they don't.

Color? As in singular color? It's definitely a plethora of colors
