I'm a fairly big Star Trek fan, but from the previews this show looks terrible. Just a bunch of cheesy speeches.

And I'm never one to say this but the wokeness/social messaging looks unbearably over the top, even by Star Trek standards.

But I haven't seen it. Could be amazing. I don't plan on watching unless I start hearing how great it is.

At this point give me 80's/90's era sets, HMU, costumes and CGI, have a show runner and story editor who just accept spec scripts with guidelines.

I actually didn't think the first episode was bad. Seeing Picardo back as the Doctor was just so good! He has still got it down and had me cracking up.

Only eye roll was the obvious butch lesbian bridge officer, but whatever lol.

I'm gonna watch the second episode and see where this goes. I'm expecting a Janeway cameo at some point, maybe Even Kim or Tuvok.

I think the show is set like 700 years after Voyager, so no cameos.

I see someone said below this is 700 years ahead of Voyager … I didn't realize that. This is connected to events in Discovery apparently … which I didn't watch.

But re Kim, at risk of revealing just how nerdy I am, in Star Trek Online, which takes place post Voyager and continues the prime timeline, Kim is finally the captain of his own ship.

Eh, the first two episodes aren't as bad as it thought they might be. Not much of fan of Holly Hunter's character. I liked most is the cadets except the annoying hologram one. The Betazoid chick in the delegation is hot AF.

Star Trek is dead dead dead! This makes ST voyager seem practically Shakespearean

The aesthetics of the show suck, the lighting, set design, characters, dialogue, virtue signaling, crappy humor, and disregard for what made ST great all fail.

This show needs to die fast…they had a chance to continue the salvaged end of Picard (which started awfully) and this is what they went with…
