Didn't see a thread on this - anybody watched this one yet? I'm working my way through it now.

I binged the first 6 and then watched the last 2 in real time. Not sure where you are on it, so no spoilers but I really loved the new bad guy and what they did both for Andre (RIP) and for Polarity. The last episode fell way short for me though.

Finished it. I love Emma, she's a little bad ass, no pun intended. The powers some of these kids have are so ridiculous...*pube girl and ass guy*. I can see the reasoning behind Cipher..haha

I felt the end went flat too but we'll see next season!

talk about a bad ass lol

I can't remember if it was in the last or next to last episode...but I didn't see all that coming out!

Getting in there though...probably something best not explained

Still only on episode 2… the first one was kinda meh but I enjoy The Boys enough to keep on going. My list of not yet watched shows is getting pretty low anyway…

Some of it is just over the top dumb but overall enjoy it and thought the ending was fairly good.

They did what a lot of shows struggle with - giving their characters time to grieve for someone who died in real life.

Sean Patrick Thomas - who plays Polarity - sort of stole the season for me despite limited appearances by the way he dealt with Andre's death and then ramping up his powers as the season ended. Not sure that this cast really jives with the crew on The Boys - I imagine Marie's reaction the first time Butcher calls her a C U next Tuesday for instance and it seems weird, but I would like to see Polarity again.

i have mixed feelings about season 2. i enjoyed it, but not as much as i did the first season. it's hard to really put my finger on it, but it sort of felt like they at least subconsciously wanted it to be a real superhero show that takes itself seriously at times and idk it just felt out of place. to be fair, this isn't a huge issue, and i still watched all the episodes and will do so in the future if it continues. but the boys and s1 have a certain level of cynicism that i think was missing here. and the finale was basically just a straight up yay teamwork good defeats bad situation which was a bit of a let down. i won't say it for those who haven't seen it, but the big twist almost felt insulting that it happened exactly the way they had telegraphed for the whole season. idk why they even bothered holding off to reveal it, it was the least surprising twist ever. maybe it's just me that felt this way. i haven't really seen any reviews for the season yet. and it had its moments for sure, i just think way too often it felt like watching one of those teen drama packed arrowverse shows on the wb or whatever but with a lot more gore. hopefully the boys don't take a similar approach with their new season.

eta: agree with the above for sure, polarity's subplot was a definite bright spot of the season, other than some to the stuff in the finale with him that felt like a totally different story at times

My biggest problem is the insinuation that Marie might be able to take down Homelander. I really don't want the Boys to wrap up after 4 insane, hilarious, heartbreaking seasons by having someone from another show suddenly appear and save the day. If The Boys is true to its conceit she'd attack Homelanderr and the Deep would kill her from behind by showing a swordfish up her ass.

Why the hell did Erin Moriarty (Starlight) ruin her face like that?

I thought I was the only one noticing that. Then I thought maybe she wasn't wearing makeup because Starlight is "on the run", but apparently people think she had some sort of facial fat removal done. I have no idea what that means. But she definitely went from supremely gorgeous to borderline Kardashian since the end of Season 4 o the Boys.

Thank god I wasnt the only one who noticed. I couldnt stand when she was on screen. People who have had work done talk really strange to me.

Agree with this too. Loved all the emotional beats they gave the characters as they processed through their losses, but also they didn't go overboard with any of it imo either. Really a pretty well-done season.

As far as the merging of the two shows as they move towards a series finale - idk how they can pull it off well. There needs to be some stakes so that means some of the good guys will probably have to die.
