Agree, they are fun books. But they are basically spin off of the first four.

I hope this next film gets into more of the Bene Gesserit skills. The whole storyline revolves around what they have set in motion.

I would guess DV's film will be EXTREMELY different from the book, which I'm happy about. I wasn't really that impressed with Dune, the book, and much preferred DV's adaptation. DV has also not let me down yet, over the last 6-7 movies, or so. I'll be there, opening weekend.

for sure, Messiah was written by Frank but part 3 is partially produced by his son so that means that complete non-Frank material may be inserted into the plot.

If you've followed any of the material written by his son, it's 180 degrees different in tone and greatness that made Dune what it is.

I'm hoping Brian Herbert is not allowed to interject the crap he wrote meant to bridge the gap between the end of Dune and Dune Messiah.
