The show has a floating timeline. Much like the geographic location of Arlen, a lot of the details are ambiguous and don't make much sense.

But who cares, it's a cartoon.

I thought this reboot was great. Captured the essence of the original series. Very glad to hear they have at least 10 more in the can. I'm hopeful they keep it going.

The universal praise and ratings have sparked discussion about a potential season 15. Hulu and Disney have not officially announced a renewal for season 15, but it was rumoured when the 14th season was greenlit that a follow-up season was also approved. Evidence may also suggest that scripts for the 15th season of King of the Hill are already being developed. The upcoming season has writers Sam Fishell, Jeremy Hsu, Erica Rosbe, Stephanie M. Johnson, Bob Daily and others attached, according to the WGA production listing for a 15th season.

I enjoyed the reboot so much I realized the original series began prior to being with my wife so we've begun watching the original together. It really holds up and much like The Simpsons, amazing to see how many things they predicted
