Talon2DSO turned me onto TA back in 2008. He is the sole reason I've dealt with you weirdos for 17 years.

So he groomed you?

I believe this fine website was launched in 1998.

Because his intention was to have several forums, Peter actually contacted me to see if I would serve as a moderator of one of them or a moderator in general. I cannot remember the specific details.

I was honored by the request, but my profession and family had me busier than a Wal*Mart bag in a tornado.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this website, as well as, discussions with some of the finest posters on the planet.

Oh, and ….

Hook 'em!

I thought Peter started it in 1997?

It was roughly that time. Before Texags a lot of us were on gobig12.com which was under the banner of the Austin American Statesman. Peter started it as an alternative to that for Aggies. I was skeptical there was enough A&M traffic to make TexAgs successful, but when Statesman/Cox Media said they were going to rebrand the web forum as hookem.com, most of the Aggies jumped over to Texags.

Gobig12.com was actually a pretty decent web forum in terms of culture. The interface wasn't great, It was beginning to mature. Most of the smack talk was direct to a section called War Room, and generally speaking, most posters respected all each schools space.

iIRC, IIIhorn was around at that time

Yes, Sir!

Our conversations, to the chagrin of many, have been taking place for decades.

Remember when TexAgs had competition?

12thfan.com and agtimes.com are the first two sites that come to mind, but there were also sports-only sites like Aggiewebsider. TA has conquered all it faced!!
