Recycled Pomeranians and Schipperkes Rescue

A rescue that helps Poms and Schipperkes. Most of their funds go to pay for medical bills and procedures for the dogs they take in.

The North Texas Teen Book Festival

It's a one day free book festival for teens and also supports literacy programs in the D/FW area.

Any of the regional food banks
They could all really use the money right now and they can stretch a dollar much further than the average person buying stuff on the small scale

World Vision is a good one.

TAMU NIL fund?

Last couple of years I give my time. It's far more beneficial IMO and greatly appreciated. Lots of opportunities to volunteer. Food pantries are always in need. Everything from taking in stock to making little food and hygiene kits for homeless to even just sweeping and cleaning the area. It's all needed and they always need hands for it.

Money wise I always give to Toys for Tots. It's a neat program and I have personally seen the joy it brings lil kids. Kids need a distraction from hard times too.

If there is a disaster (tornado for example) though around the same time, I'll give to that. Stay away from the big orgs. They suck. Also know this personally. Your dollar will go so much further and be far more appreciated by giving to the closest local church in the community affected. Just try to keep it as local as possible.

I asked my church if anyone was having a hard time and donated there.
