I moved to Missouri in August 2013. About a month later, there was a hailstorm that damaged the roof of my unsold house in Copperfield. It was a 15 year (rated) roof, that was 18 years old. The insurance company wouldn't give me a penny. I had to pay the full cost of replacing the roof.

First there was a 'jingles' thread. Then there was a 'pringles' thread. Do you I really need to explain this to you?

Had to replace one roof in my home ownership, and my insurance covered part of it. I think I used architectural shingles.

Man I got shingles once.

Awful stuff. And I was like 35! Totally able to work and do everything, but I wanted to scratch my arm off

Yes

i got shingles last year. worst disease ive ever had.

I had shingles when i was 28. I thought I'd pulled ab muscles until the sores popped up.

I can remember getting our roof replaced one summer when I was 7 or 8. I was pissed because of how early they started working each morning. I didn't usually get up until about 9 during the summer. Would watch Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, and then TPIR. Seems like Donahue came on after TPIR.

Sounds like you had chingles of shingles!

I put shingles on a roof once. Fell through. My dad almost yelled at me, and then realized there wasn't much I could've done and just laughed.

Reminds me of the time I worked in a department store in Chicago.

I feel like derivative threads on Texags are a plea for help from a deeply disturbed and lonely person.

I had a new roof put on the house a couple of years ago as part of a sort of addition + great big remodel of part of the place. During teardown it became pretty obvious they didn't bother to remove the roof when they added stuff on. There were black, on top of brown, on top of kinda speckely red/green/black, on top of the original white roof that was put on in the 1950s.

When it was time to choose a color I went with light silver and now the A/C hardly runs in summer

We are getting a new roof soon. Within the next month.

My husband puts new roofs up a lot
