Well, it looks like I may have fallen victim to a scammer. This would have been my first game since I graduated in 2019, as well as my parents and wife's first time at kyle field ever. SOOO I am out $1200 and an amazing experience... Great.....

He send me a gmail for payment: fmartinez1396@gmail.com
He has been messaging me from an imessage account: cowboyaggie0@gmail.com

I made a post looking for tickets to South Carolina last week, and he PMd me offering 4 tickets at a decent price compared to SeatGeek. I bit. He had a lot of forum activity and had sold tickets before on TexAgs (once I believe), so I thought I was dealing with someone who's been around for a while. Well, first it was payment didn't go through, so he sent me a screenshot of his tickets. Next was he went out of town and didn't have his sim card in his iPad or something, now he's just not replying at all.

As an optimist, I still have a sliver of hope that this guy will actually transfer the tickets, but it has been nearly a week and a million excuses and now he is not replying.

If by any chance he replies and actually transfers the tickets, I will be sure to clear his name here and give him the biggest apology in the world, because I will feel really bad, but things are not looking great for me and I want people to be aware in the case he tries to sell you tickets.

I didn't purchase tickets from him as it seemed very sketchy since he didnt use a phone number and wanted zelle. What was the section and row?

Are you sure you were actually talking to the person with the Texags account? A lot of times scammers will pose as a Texags user with valid posting history. If you posted your info on your WTB post, then scammers have all they need. Best practice is to also have them reply to your post to make sure they are who they say they are.

You may have been dealing with a scammer saying he was that poster, but not actually him.

Always make them respond to a thread before sending any money. I do this with my buyers as well when I'm the seller.

Hopefully you can contest it with your bank or credit card company and at least get your money back.

I am in a text argument with him right now. I knew it. POS. Luckily I didn't bite.

He tried to sell me FB5 for 400 each. Way too low. He wanted me to zelle him the money. No phone number. I told him to call me. He wouldn't. ******.

Account less than a year old. No Tags at all.

He scammed me impersonating another seller. txaggiex@gamil.com and fmartinez@gmail.com for the zelle. $500 down the drain. If you have his contact number specifically or any other information about him please let me know as I am proceeding with legal action.

Was this sent through a private message on TexAgs? If so, I would report them to a moderator.

Staff can't do anything about people that impersonate others (via email / text), but it's different if they are actively posting and using chat to scam people.

Yes, it was a DM in response to a post I had made looking for tickets. I will report it, thanks!

He refused to give me his phone number so we could talk live. That is when I got suspicious.

I have had an interaction with cowboyaggie0@gmail.com or something similar when trying to sell tickets. Felt off so no money down the drain but whoever it was knew a lot about A&M and Kyle field. Felt very believable until I asked them to message me on texags.

I hate these scammers, and I hate that they've infiltrated the ticket exchange a bit. Used to completely trust this place. Just have to be more careful about it now. I'm almost always selling so it's not really a problem for me in most cases. Had a recent issue, but it wasn't the same situation. Just dishonesty about what they were doing with the tickets. Which wasn't much better.

Ticket exchange should be behind the paywall.

That won't eliminate the issue. It may help some but has given some people false security.

scammers will then use stolen funds to pay for access and get even more unsuspecting people who think they are safer.
